It looked like two limestone cliffs were parted ways as we entered the Big Lagoon. Yes, it was just the entrance but it was as if we were going to a different realm, so beautiful it seemed surreal.
Our tour guide said we’d stay on the boat, and do some photo shoot. I’m fine with that.
We were moving towards a path with crystal clear waters surrounded by limestones with green plants on it. Some of the boatmen got off the boat to make sure the propeller would not touch any rocks nor seabed, but we could perfectly see them as they swam and glided.
We were about 10 tourists. Eloi and I were seated at the back while looking at fellow travelers positioned at the tip of the boat for some photos. Our tour guide assured us that we could get our best shots going back. My hope was restored as we were eagerly waiting for our turn and still at the end of the queue.
We waited but then it was the view, the jaw-dropping splendor that surrounded us capped off the experience.
After a few minutes we finally saw the Big Lagoon, a calm body of water colored with different shades of blue. If most lagoons are surrounded with mountains and trees, El Nido is truly special with its huge towering limestones.
No one was seen taking pictures at that time. It was a chance for me and Eloi to strike a pose Hahaha!
We circled the entire lagoon and saw some tourists kayaking, most of them were foreigners. Well, we didn’t have enough time to experience kayaking. We had to be on our next island on time for our lunch.
Going back we were again treated with the amazing view. It was also the time for me and Eloi to take photos at that location which we didn’t get the chance. Since all our fellows were done, it was indeed our turn!
The Big Lagoon is one of the most beautiful places in El Nido. And you have to see it, experience it.
Though we didn’t get the chance to swim and kayak, our eyes and senses were fully satisfied. It felt like we were in a different dimension. It was crazy!
As we travel to our next island, I was still thinking of the big lagoon. I was just happy, delighted about creating another experience in a paradise called El Nido.
