Kabigan Falls of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

For a time when I was still a newbie traveler, I thought that going to the waterfalls is just an easy walk, unlike climbing mountains.

Then I traveled to Ifugao, and hiked Tappiyah Falls. It was a grueling trek, yet one of the most memorable for me. At that time I realized, that the trail going to waterfalls is not always a walk in the park. Haha!

But where did I get this (stupid) idea in the first place?

Buntot Palos Falls: Adventure in Pangil, Laguna

In every hike, we always have to be prepared.

When someone says the trek is just okay and bearable, always remember that your physical ability and even threshold for pain is different from others.

A simple hike for some might not be simple for you and vise versa. So always be ready, especially when the rain comes and the trail gets muddy and slippery, that can make a supposed easy trail, difficult. And that’s what happened to me, to us, in Buntot Palos Falls in Pangil, Laguna.

Lake Sebu : Facing My Fear, A Solo Travel to the 7 Waterfalls

Have you experienced that, when you thought of wanting something then you realize one day it’s already happening? And you couldn’t help but express your gratitude and amazement.

That happened to me when I first saw on TV a video of a traveler doing the zipline in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. By the time he raised his camera (or GoPro), it felt like I was the one doing the zipline. I was in awe of the spectacular view of the waterfalls below.

The Lake Sebu zipline is the highest zipline not just in the Philippines but in Southeast Asia. And the problem is, that can be terrifying for someone like me who has somekinda’ fear of heights. Haha! But I was surprised with myself, that I was really determined to try it. I even planned to go to Lake Sebu maybe next year to come face to face with this of adventure.

Infinity Farm: Nature’s Best Kept Secret in Baco, Oriental Mindoro

There were only nine of us inside a long jeepney in a two hour ride going to Baco, Oriental Mindoro from Puerto Galera.

Tourism Officers of the province said, we were about to visit and experience a place they call “Infinity farm.”

Honestly, I thought it was indeed a farm. A plain farm. You know with all the trees and fruits with cows, chickens and goats. Haha!

But little did I know, amidst the brand of the place that is associated to “farming” plus the rough road travel, is a discovery of nature’s best kept secret.

Talay Falls: A Must-See in Luisiana, Laguna

I woke up then looked at the gloomy sky.

Our guides’ sleeping area has become our refuge when a downpour happened that night, bringing tons of water in our tents. We relocated and stayed with them, slept on some chopped woods with ants underneath it. It was an unfinished house, with roof but no walls.

Aside from the constant itchy feeling on my feet, because of mosquitoes or ants, we also endured the cold air and rain in the middle of the jungle.

Aliw Falls : Oh We Almost Missed You In Luisiana, Laguna

“It’s not here in San Salvador. It’s in San Jose. Not my jurisdiction.”

This was what Kapitan Coco, the Barangay Captain of San Salvador in the town of Luisiana in Laguna, told us when we showed our interest in side tripping to Aliw Falls. Hulugan Falls, the hottest attraction in Luisiana right now, can be found in San Salvador, and in a short span of time, they were able to set up a system to register and assist the influx of tourists.

Hulugan Falls :One of The Best Waterfalls, A Hidden Gem of Laguna!

I was looking at the sky. There was no star, just the sight of coconut trees engulfed by darkness.

It was my intention to let our tent open, and left the net closed to let the air enter. It rained that night but by the time we slept, it suddenly became humid. It was another new experience for me, camping in the middle of the jungle.

That day we explored Aliw Falls and next morning, we were about to discover one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Luzon, the Hulugan Falls of Luisiana, Laguna.
