| Rockwell Center | 2026 Christmas lighting date to be announced |
These are the announced schedules available as of October 19, 2026. Some tree-lighting dates have already passed, while others are still upcoming.
Keep in mind that Christmas decorations and tree-lighting ceremonies are different from scheduled light shows. A venue may already have its decorations on display even when its special performances have not yet been announced.
1. Ayala Triangle Gardens and Ayala Avenue, Makati
Let’s begin with one of Metro Manila’s most iconic Christmas destinations: Ayala Triangle Gardens.
Located in the heart of the Makati Central Business District, this beautiful urban park has long been associated with spectacular holiday decorations.
For many people, Christmas in Makati simply wouldn’t feel complete without seeing the lights along Ayala Avenue.
Over the years, the area has featured illuminated trees, colorful lanterns, music, and impressive artistic installations.
The surrounding skyscrapers make everything even more beautiful at night.
What to Expect
For the 2025 Christmas season, Makati introduced a celebration called Makati in Color, featuring Filipino-inspired Christmas decorations along Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, Paseo de Roxas, and Ayala Triangle Gardens.
Visitors enjoyed colorful designs inspired by traditional Filipino symbols, illuminated parols, and projections celebrating local art and culture.
While Ayala Triangle is famous for its synchronized light-and-music shows from previous years, the format can change. The 2025 celebration emphasized artistic lighting and installations, so visitors should not assume the old show format will automatically return.
The official program for Christmas 2026 has yet to be announced.
Visitor Information
- Location: Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati City
- Entrance fee: Free
- Best time to visit: After sunset
- 2026 schedule: To be announced
Travel Tip
If you’re visiting Makati during the Christmas season, explore the surrounding streets instead of staying in just one location.
You can also visit nearby shopping malls such as Greenbelt and Glorietta, which traditionally feature impressive holiday decorations.
This is one of my top recommendations if you enjoy walking around the city and taking Christmas photographs.
2. SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
If you’re looking for a Christmas destination where you can spend an entire afternoon and evening, SM Mall of Asia is an excellent choice.
Located along Manila Bay, this enormous shopping and entertainment complex has become one of the country’s most popular holiday destinations.
Every Christmas season, MOA transforms its public spaces with elaborate decorations, giant Christmas trees, and themed attractions.
And because there’s so much to see and do here, you can easily turn your Christmas lights outing into a whole-day family adventure.
What’s New for Christmas 2026?
SM Mall of Asia has scheduled its 2026 Christmas centerpiece unveiling for October 21, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Central Atrium.
The launch is part of SM Supermalls’ nationwide holiday celebration.
MOA has also hosted special nighttime attractions in previous years, including synchronized lighting presentations and drone performances.
For example, the 2025 Christmas season featured the MOA Night of Lights celebration with scheduled performances.
However, the specific 2026 dates for any nighttime light or drone shows still need to be confirmed.
Visitor Information
- Location: Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City
- Entrance fee: Free for general mall Christmas displays

- Venue: Central Atrium, Main Mall

The combination of Christmas decorations, Manila Bay views, and evening activities makes MOA particularly attractive for families.
If you’re hoping to catch fireworks or drone shows, check the official event schedule before visiting.
3. Araneta City Giant Christmas Tree and Parolan, Quezon City
If there’s one place that brings back childhood Christmas memories for generations of Filipinos, it has to be Araneta City in Cubao.
The Giant Christmas Tree has been part of the area’s holiday traditions for decades.
In fact, the tradition dates back to 1981, making it one of Metro Manila’s longest-running Christmas attractions.
Every year, families look forward to the lighting of the enormous tree near the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But there’s another Christmas attraction in Araneta City that I think deserves just as much attention.
Araneta City Parolan 2026
The annual Parolan bazaar officially opened on October 1, 2026.
Located at the Expo Centro Parking area of Farmers Garden, the bazaar offers beautiful Filipino Christmas lanterns, including traditional bamboo and capiz parols and elaborate Pampanga-style lanterns.
You’ll also find Christmas ornaments, fairy lights, garlands, nativity decorations, and other holiday items.
What makes the experience even better is the nearby selection of Filipino Christmas food.
Think freshly cooked bibingka, puto bumbong, barbecue, and coffee.
It’s the kind of atmosphere that reminds you of traditional Filipino Christmas celebrations.
Visitor Information
- Location: Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City
- Parolan schedule: October 1 to December 31, 2026

If your idea of a perfect Christmas evening involves beautiful streets, cafés, restaurants, and festive decorations, you’ll probably enjoy Bonifacio High Street.
This popular outdoor lifestyle destination in Bonifacio Global City becomes especially attractive during the holiday season.
The pedestrian-friendly walkways make it ideal for leisurely Christmas strolls.
And unlike attractions where you simply watch a show and leave, BGC gives you plenty of opportunities to enjoy the atmosphere at your own pace.
Christmas Decorations at BGC
Bonifacio High Street has previously featured towering Christmas trees, illuminated installations, festive arches, and themed displays.
For Christmas 2025, the area introduced a candy-inspired Christmas setting complete with a gingerbread village and a decorative entrance installation.
The 2026 theme and lighting schedule have not yet been officially announced.

5. Rockwell Center and Power Plant Mall, Makati
If you’re looking for elegant Christmas decorations rather than a huge, crowded outdoor spectacle, Rockwell Center is worth considering.
The Rockwell neighborhood in Makati is known for its beautifully maintained streets, stylish architecture, and attractive holiday lighting.
During previous Christmas seasons, its buildings and walkways have been decorated with warm golden lights.
The entire area feels especially cozy at night.
What Makes Rockwell Special?
Rockwell’s Christmas decorations tend to focus on a more sophisticated, classic holiday atmosphere.
In 2025, the Rockwell community celebrated its tree lighting in early November.
The decorations included an outdoor Christmas tree at Plaza Garden and several impressive trees inside Power Plant Mall.
Whether you’re visiting with family or planning a Christmas date, the combination of lights, restaurants, and attractive surroundings makes this a worthwhile destination.

Araneta City is another family favorite, particularly for children who enjoy traditional Christmas decorations and seeing colorful parols.
SM North EDSA, SM Megamall, and Festival Mall are practical options because they offer indoor spaces and plenty of restaurants.
Okada Manila could also be especially interesting this year because of its announced Disney and Pixar-inspired Christmas celebration, although families should check the individual activity details once released.

Tips for Visiting Christmas Attractions in Metro Manila
Before heading out, here are a few things worth remembering.
1. Visit on weekdays when possible
Christmas attractions tend to become crowded during weekends, especially from late November until Christmas Day.
If you prefer taking photographs without too many people in the background, weekday evenings are usually a better option.
2. Check schedules before traveling
Not every Christmas attraction has a nightly light show.
Some destinations only have stationary decorations, while others feature special performances on selected dates.
Always check the venue’s latest announcements before planning your visit.
3. Arrive before sunset
For outdoor attractions, arriving in the late afternoon gives you time to explore the surroundings.
You can also take photographs during daylight and stay until the Christmas lights are switched on.
4. Wear comfortable shoes
Many of these destinations involve quite a bit of walking.
This is especially true for Bonifacio High Street, Ayala Triangle Gardens, Eastwood City, and the large SM Mall of Asia complex.
5. Prepare for traffic
Let’s face it. Metro Manila traffic during December can be challenging.
If you’re traveling by car, consider parking availability and possible road congestion.
For destinations near train stations, public transportation may be a more convenient alternative.
6. Set a budget
You don’t need to spend much to enjoy Christmas decorations.
However, transportation, meals, parking, and optional activities can add up.
Set a spending limit before your trip, especially if you’re traveling with a large family.
7. Keep the weather in mind
Outdoor Christmas decorations and light shows may be affected by rain or unfavorable weather conditions.
Check for last-minute announcements, especially when visiting venues with outdoor performances.

Final Thoughts
There’s really something special about Christmas in Metro Manila.
Despite the traffic, busy shopping malls, and crowds, there’s a certain excitement that comes with seeing the city decorated for the holidays.
Maybe it’s the giant Christmas trees that remind us of childhood. Maybe it’s the colorful parols, the familiar Christmas songs, or simply the chance to spend time with family and friends.
Whatever it is, Christmas has a way of making even the most ordinary places feel magical.
And the best part? You don’t need an expensive vacation to enjoy it.
A simple evening walk around Ayala Triangle Gardens, a visit to the Christmas displays at Mall of Asia, or a family trip to Araneta City can already become a wonderful holiday memory.
