“What a beautiful second option.”
The idea of Talisay Beach being merely a second option crossed my mind when I first saw it in El Nido. How could such beauty be just an alternative? El Nido Tour C typically includes Star Beach as a destination, but it was closed at that time.
Our guides mentioned that Star Beach was closed because it was being used as a filming location for a reality television program from another country. That’s something to be proud of, right? Honestly, I had no issue with the decision to visit Talisay Beach instead of Star Beach, as it was stunningly gorgeous.
Despite the numerous boats docked around the island, any concerns about insufficient space on the shore vanished the moment we laid eyes on the island. Unbelievable. Are all islands in El Nido like this? Seriously?
The beach was pristine, and its clear, turquoise waters allowed us to see the fish swimming. The surrounding rocks and cliffs, naturally carved, added to our enjoyment.
The boatmen informed us that while they prepared our lunch, we could enjoy the beach.
Eagerly, we jumped off the boat and swam amidst little fishes until we reached the shore. Walking on Talisay’s pristine white sand beach was a moment to savor and cherish.
After spending about 45 minutes basking in the sun and strolling hand-in-hand with Eloi along the beach, we couldn’t help but chuckle when we saw one of our boatmen waving at us. It was the sign we had been eagerly anticipating: lunch was ready!
One of the highlights of the El Nido tours is the inclusion of lunch. But it’s not just any ordinary meal; it’s a feast complete with grilled liempo, seafood, ensalada, and fresh fruits, all presented artistically.
Water activities like swimming and snorkeling can be tiring, but the breathtaking beauty of El Nido combined with the delicious food was rejuvenating, filling us with energy for more adventures.

After our lunch, we still had about 30 minutes to further enjoy the island. Eloi and I chose to sit on the right side of the beach near our boat, facing the limestone cliffs. We were captivated, silently admiring the breathtaking splendor before us.
On that sunny day, I couldn’t help but reflect on the journey to El Nido. I reminded myself that persevering to make this trip happen was unquestionably worth it. Life hadn’t always been smooth sailing for me, with numerous reasons threatening to derail this trip. Yet, everything fell into place to make this trip possible.
This is why I feel profoundly grateful. I’m thankful to be in this paradise, a tranquil escape from the stresses and worries of everyday life.

Getting There
By Air: There are flights to Puerto Princesa from major airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia. For direct flights to El Nido from Manila, you can use Air SWIFT, though it’s a pricier option.
Land Travel: Once in Puerto Princesa, you can take a bus (costing around P290-P480/way) or a van (P550 to P600 per way) to El Nido. Vans can be boarded at Robinson’s Mall, and buses at San Jose Terminal.

The first thing that came to my mind is Amazing Race. Pwede rin Survivor pero parang wala na yun. Yung Amazing Race pwede pa kasi they in pre-production. Nakaka proud noh? 🙂
