During our trip to Antique, one of the most memorable experiences was staying at Aningalan’s Highland Strawberry Garden in San Remegio. This unique spot, which started as a humble farm, has since transformed into a cozy accommodation perfect for those seeking a relaxing commune with nature.
Highland Strawberry Garden is located in Barangay Aningalan, San Remegio, nestled in the mountains at an altitude of approximately 880 meters above sea level. The cool temperature, especially at night, adds to the charm of this serene getaway.
Although we weren’t able to experience strawberry picking since the harvest season starts in January, the wide expanse of the farm and the stunning mountain views were enough to give us a chill and relaxed vibe.
We spent the night on the property and were warmly welcomed by the owners, Sir Steve and Lovella Nodque. They have three rooms available, perfect for groups and families looking for a peaceful retreat.
The farm’s history is quite interesting. It all started when Steve’s brother brought some strawberries and decided to plant them on their lot. Thanks to the cool climate, the strawberries thrived, and they decided to plant more. Initially, the farm was a local secret, with only children from the area visiting. But everything changed when a Canadian citizen from Capiz visited, took photos, and shared them on Facebook. The post went viral, and soon, the farm was bustling with visitors.
Food is never a problem at Highland Strawberry Garden as meals are offered right at the accommodation. We also had the chance to explore nearby sites, including picturesque hills perfect for photography and simply enjoying the beauty of nature.

Today, Highland Strawberry Garden is a haven for nature lovers seeking to unwind and experience the refreshing cool temperature. Our stay there was filled with serenity and the warmth of hospitality, making it a highlight of our trip to Antique.
