How Old Is Bea Millan-Windorski?

Bea Millan-Windorski is 24 years old as of October 2026.

She was born in August 2002 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States.

There is a minor discrepancy in published biographical profiles regarding her exact birthday. Some reports list August 15, while others indicate August 16. However, her birth year of 2002 is consistently reported.

She was 23 when she won Miss Universe Philippines on May 2, 2026, and turned 24 ahead of the international competition in November.

At her age, Bea has already participated in major international pageants and represented two different countries in separate competitions.

That’s quite an achievement for someone still in her early twenties.

How Tall Is Bea Millan-Windorski?

Bea Millan-Windorski stands approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, equivalent to around 180 centimeters.

Her height is one of her noticeable physical features, particularly during runway presentations and evening gown competitions.

But what’s interesting is that Bea has also spoken openly about how her height affected her confidence while growing up.

In an October 2026 interview with METRO, she recalled feeling different from her classmates because she was often the tallest person in the room.

Like many young people, she experienced insecurities about her appearance before eventually learning to embrace what made her unique.

Today, that same height contributes to her commanding presence on the pageant stage.

Her modeling background has also helped her develop the confidence and presentation skills expected of an international beauty queen.

Where Was Bea Millan-Windorski Born?

Bea was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the United States.

She grew up in Whitefish Bay, a community in the Milwaukee area.

Her childhood was shaped by a mixture of American and Filipino influences.

Although she was raised in the United States, she has shared that she always identified strongly with her Filipino heritage.

In fact, during the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 question-and-answer portion, Bea recalled growing up in a predominantly non-diverse community where she was often identified as Filipina.

She sometimes had to point out the Philippines on a map to classmates who were unfamiliar with the country.

It’s an experience that many Filipinos growing up overseas may find relatable.

When you’re living in another country, your Filipino identity can become an important part of how you understand yourself.

For Bea, that connection eventually influenced her decision to move to the Philippines and build a life here.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Parents and Filipino Heritage

Bea comes from a multicultural family.

Her mother is Filipina, with family roots in La Union, while her father is American with German and Polish ancestry.

Her maternal grandparents, Alfredo and Marcela Millan, originally came from San Juan, La Union.

The family eventually migrated to the United States, becoming part of the wider Filipino immigrant community.

But even after settling abroad, Bea’s family maintained its connection to the Philippines.

During her childhood, she visited the country whenever possible.

Many of those visits involved spending time with her grandparents in La Union.

And these experiences would later influence not only her decision to represent the province in pageantry but also her environmental advocacy work.

Interestingly, Bea was named after her great-grandmother, Beatriz.

According to a profile published by the Philippine Information Agency, her great-grandmother was a widowed mother who operated a small sari-sari store and worked hard to send her daughters to school.

It’s a family story that reflects the perseverance and sacrifices familiar to many Filipino households.

Why Does Bea Millan-Windorski Represent La Union?

If Bea was born in the United States, you might be wondering why she represented La Union at Miss Universe Philippines.

The answer is simple: La Union is where her Filipino family comes from.

Her maternal grandparents have strong roots in San Juan, a coastal town famous for its surfing beaches.

Throughout her childhood, Bea visited her grandparents and spent time exploring the province.

Those visits helped establish her emotional connection to the Philippines.

San Juan’s beaches also inspired her love for the ocean, surfing, and marine conservation.

So when she was selected to represent La Union at Miss Universe Philippines 2026, it wasn’t simply a matter of choosing a province for a competition.

She was representing a place closely connected to her childhood memories and family history.

The province also gave her tremendous support during the national pageant.

During coronation night, supporters from La Union traveled to Metro Manila to cheer for her.

The provincial government also assisted with parts of her campaign and advocacy presentation.

For Bea, winning the national title was therefore both a personal achievement and a homecoming.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Educational Background

One of the interesting things about Bea is her academic background.

Before becoming Miss Universe Philippines, she was already pursuing interests related to international affairs, diplomacy, and public service.

Whitefish Bay High School

Bea attended Whitefish Bay High School in Wisconsin.

During her school years, she participated in several extracurricular activities.

These included the varsity dance team, orchestra, and debate.

She also studied music and ballet, including cello training and dance instruction.

These activities helped her develop different skills, from stage confidence and public speaking to discipline and artistic expression.

Looking at her current career, it’s easy to see how some of these experiences became useful.

After all, international pageantry involves much more than walking across a stage.

Contestants are expected to communicate clearly, respond to difficult questions, and represent their communities confidently.

University of Wisconsin–Madison

After high school, Bea attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

She completed her studies in 2023, earning degrees in History and International Relations.

Her academic interests included global affairs and relations between the United States and Southeast Asian countries.

She has also been associated with research involving US–ASEAN relations.

During this period, she gained experience related to diplomacy and international policy.

Her background includes work connected with the Philippine Embassy and an internship in Washington, D.C.

These experiences reflect her long-standing interest in international relations and public service.

It’s also worth mentioning that Bea has expressed an interest in pursuing legal education.

Her future plans may still evolve, especially with the responsibilities that come with holding a national beauty title.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Modeling Career

Before winning the Miss Universe Philippines crown, Bea had already developed a modeling career.

Her work has included fashion runway appearances and collaborations with designers in the United States and the Philippines.

She has participated in events associated with New York Fashion Week and Filipino-American fashion showcases.

She also appeared at Bench Fashion Week in the Philippines in April 2026.

Her modeling experience is particularly relevant to her Miss Universe journey.

International beauty pageants require strong runway presentation, confidence in front of cameras, and the ability to work with different fashion designers.

While modeling and pageantry are not exactly the same, there are skills that overlap.

For Bea, her fashion background provides additional experience as she prepares for the international competition.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Pageant Journey

Bea didn’t become Miss Universe Philippines overnight.

Her journey actually began several years before she competed for the Philippine crown.

And what’s particularly interesting about her story is that she had already achieved international pageant success while representing the United States.

Here’s a timeline of her major pageant achievements.

Let’s take a closer look at the most important moments.

Miss Earth USA 2024: Bea’s First Major National Crown

One of Bea’s biggest breakthroughs came when she joined Miss Earth USA.

Representing Wisconsin, she competed against other candidates from across the United States.

She eventually won the Miss Earth USA 2024 title, becoming the first Filipino-American woman to achieve that distinction.

Winning Miss Earth USA gave her the opportunity to represent the United States at the international Miss Earth competition.

This was a significant milestone in her pageant career.

Not only did it provide her with international exposure, but it also allowed her to promote environmental advocacies on a much larger platform.

And as it turned out, she would perform exceptionally well at Miss Earth itself.

Miss Earth 2024: Bea Wins Miss Earth Water

In November 2024, Bea represented the United States at the Miss Earth pageant held in the Philippines.

The international competition took place at Okada Manila in Parañaque on November 9, 2024.

At the time, Bea was competing against representatives from dozens of countries.

She successfully advanced through the competition and reached the final four.

She eventually received the title of Miss Earth Water 2024, equivalent to the pageant’s second runner-up placement.

The winner that year was Jessica Lane of Australia.

For Bea, the result was especially meaningful because she achieved international recognition in the Philippines, the country connected to her maternal heritage.

Her participation also highlighted her interest in environmental issues.

Unlike some beauty competitions, Miss Earth places particular emphasis on ecological awareness and environmental advocacy.

This made it a natural platform for someone already passionate about sustainability and conservation.

And although she was representing the United States at the time, her journey would eventually bring her back to the Philippine pageant scene.

Why Did Bea Represent the United States Before the Philippines?

This question became one of the most discussed topics after Bea won Miss Universe Philippines 2026.

Some pageant followers wondered why she previously represented the United States at Miss Earth but later competed for the Philippines at Miss Universe.

The explanation involves her Filipino-American background and the different national pageant organizations.

Bea was born and raised in the United States and qualified to participate in the Miss Earth USA competition.

She subsequently won that national title and represented the United States at Miss Earth 2024.

Later, after moving to the Philippines and establishing her life here, she pursued an opportunity to represent La Union at Miss Universe Philippines.

During interviews, Bea explained that she had maintained Filipino citizenship documentation and that her mother registered her birth with the Philippine Embassy in the United States.

She also discussed obtaining her Philippine passport after relocating.

Her participation in both national pageant systems reflects her ties to the two countries.

The important distinction is that she represented the United States in Miss Earth and will represent the Philippines in Miss Universe.

These are separate international pageant organizations with their own eligibility procedures.

Miss Universe Philippines 2026: How Bea Won the Crown

On May 2, 2026, Bea Millan-Windorski achieved another major milestone.

Representing La Union, she was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The national competition featured 50 candidates from different parts of the Philippines.

Throughout the pageant, Bea attracted attention for her stage presence, modeling experience, communication skills, and advocacy work.

She was considered one of the strong contenders even before coronation night.

During the competition, she successfully advanced through the different rounds, including the swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer portions.

Ultimately, she emerged as the winner and succeeded Ahtisa Manalo as Miss Universe Philippines.

But one of the defining moments of her victory was her final answer.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Winning Answer at Miss Universe Philippines 2026

During the final question-and-answer portion, the seven remaining candidates were asked why the Philippines was still worth representing on the global stage despite frustrations many Filipinos have about the country.

It was a question that went beyond beauty pageants.

It touched on national identity, public frustration, and hope for the country’s future.

Bea used her personal experience growing up in the United States to explain why the Philippines remained important to her.

She recalled being identified as Filipina during her childhood and feeling connected to a country that some of her classmates barely knew.

She also explained why she eventually decided to move to the Philippines.

Rather than simply celebrating the country’s beauty or culture, she emphasized its potential and the importance of creating opportunities for Filipinos.

One particularly meaningful part of her response focused on the struggles of Filipino families separated by overseas employment.

She expressed hope for a country where people would not have to leave their loved ones just to find better opportunities.

She ended by promising to become a public servant for everyone if given the crown.

Her answer reflected themes that have appeared throughout her personal story: migration, identity, opportunity, and service.

And ultimately, it helped her secure the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 title.

The Citizenship Discussion After Her Victory

Bea’s victory also sparked conversations about her citizenship and residency.

Because she was born and raised in the United States and previously represented America in an international pageant, some social media users questioned her eligibility and connection to the Philippines.

Bea addressed these concerns during her May 6, 2026 appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.

She explained that her mother registered her birth with the Philippine Embassy in the United States and that she had long held documentation recognizing her Filipino citizenship.

She also clarified that obtaining her Philippine passport took place after she relocated to the Philippines.

According to Bea, she had been living in the country for approximately a year and a half by the time of that interview.

However, her connection to the Philippines began much earlier through her repeated childhood visits to La Union.

She emphasized that she had always regarded both countries as important parts of her life.

The discussion also raised a broader question about the experiences of Filipinos growing up abroad.

For many members of the Filipino diaspora, cultural identity can be shaped by family, language, traditions, and relationships even when they are raised outside the Philippines.

Bea’s position is that her Filipino identity isn’t something she adopted simply for pageantry.

It’s something she has carried throughout her life.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Environmental Advocacies

While much of the public’s attention naturally focuses on her appearance and pageant achievements, Bea is also known for her environmental advocacy work.

Her interests include climate change, conservation, and the experiences of communities affected by environmental problems.

Marine Conservation in La Union

One of her most personal advocacies involves the protection of marine life in La Union.

Bea has participated in activities connected with Project CURMA, a local initiative involved in protecting sea turtles, commonly known as pawikan.

The organization works with local communities to promote marine conservation and environmental awareness.

Her connection with the project is particularly meaningful because of her childhood memories of San Juan’s beaches.

For Bea, protecting the ocean isn’t simply about supporting an environmental campaign.

It’s also about preserving a place that played an important role in her upbringing.

Climate Refugees and Displaced Communities

Another area of her advocacy focuses on people displaced by climate-related disasters and environmental changes.

Bea has been associated with Open Doors, Open Hearts, an initiative that promotes awareness of displaced communities and the challenges faced by climate refugees.

This advocacy reflects her interest in the relationship between the environment, migration, and human rights.

Climate change doesn’t affect only forests, oceans, or wildlife.

It also affects people who may lose their homes, livelihoods, or communities because of extreme weather and environmental changes.

By highlighting these issues, Bea has connected her environmental work with broader social concerns.

Inclusivity and Human Rights

Bea has also spoken publicly about inclusion, identity, and equal treatment.

Her views have been shaped partly by personal experiences within her family and her own experience growing up in a multicultural environment.

For her, pageantry provides an opportunity to discuss issues beyond beauty and fashion.

Whether people agree with all her views or not, her advocacy work is an important part of the public identity she brings to Miss Universe.

Bea Millan-Windorski’s Miss Universe 2026 Preparations

Winning the national crown was only the beginning.

Bea now faces the challenge of representing the Philippines at Miss Universe 2026, where she will compete against delegates from around the world.

Since winning in May, she has been preparing for the international competition through pageant training, public appearances, fashion engagements, and advocacy activities.

One of her stated priorities has been improving her pasarela, or runway walk.

Even with her modeling background, Miss Universe requires a distinct combination of stage projection, confidence, elegance, and presentation.

Her previous international pageant experience will certainly be useful.

However, the Miss Universe competition has its own atmosphere and demands.

She will also be expected to communicate her personal story, explain her advocacies, and represent the Philippines during international media and cultural events.

During the interview, Bea reflected on what it meant to represent the Philippines while having grown up in the United States.

She also discussed her childhood insecurities, particularly feeling physically different from her classmates.

It has also been a process of becoming comfortable with who she is.
