The Preparation
Before we embarked on our journey, we made sure to make reservations wherever needed. The first thing that needed our attention was accommodation, so we booked the hotels well in advance to avoid any last-minute hassle. Second, we took care of Ranthambore Safari Booking because they don’t allow, on-the-spot tickets.
The Journey Begins
We began our road trip from Delhi. This is my home town, so we were eagerly looking forward to roaming around the wonders of Rajasthan in a very comfort-oriented SUV.
We packed our bags and headed towards the capital of Rajasthan, which is Jaipur. It took around 5 hours(280 km) to reach jaipur and after that we started our journey to explore the magnificent pink city.
Day 1: Jaipur (60-70 km, 24 hours)
One could hardly ignore the Pink City-Jaipur, known for its very beautiful architecture, brisk markets, and history. Most of the day was spent exploring the city’s most famous landmarks-the Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, and City Palace.
This is the itinerary we adopted while in Jaipur in order to visit the major attractions: Amber Fort(2 hours) — Hawa Mahal(1 hour) — City Palace(2 hours) — lunch break- Jantar Mantar(1 hour) – Albert Hall Museum(1 hour) – Bapu Bazaar(2 hours) – Having dinner and enjoying cultural performances at Chokhi Dhani to round off the day (3 hours).

Day 2: Jaipur to Ajmer (approx. 130 km, 2 hours)
Proceeding on our journey, we eventually reached Ajmer, known for Dargah Sharif which is the Sufi shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Gharib Nawaz and receives requests from millions of pilgrims round the year. We reached early morning and sat at the dargah, enjoying the piety as well as the beauty of the architecture.
Ajmer Accommodation:

Day 3: Ajmer to Jodhpur (approx. 210 km, 4 hours)
Our next stop on the planned tour was the blue-painted city of Jodhpur, which is well known for the most impressive Mehrangarh Fort, one of the largest forts of India. We dedicated the entire day appreciating the tortuous carvings on the enormous walls of the fort and also enjoyed the rushing views of the whole blue city from the heights of the fort.

Umaid Bhawan Palace: A historical lavish palace hotel with a picturesque view of the city and the best enabling facilities.
Day 4: From Jodhpur to Udaipur (approx. 260 km, 5 hrs)
Then it was time to move towards the City of Lakes, Udaipur known for the beautiful Lake Pichola and the grand City Palace. We spent the whole day sailing on the lake, visiting the palace, and wandering around the old part of the city, finding hidden places and local craftsmen.

The Oberoi Udaivilas – This is a lavish resort which lies on the banks of Pichola lake offering splendid views and top notch services.
Day 5: From Udaipur to Ranthambore (approx. 340 km, 6 hrs)
After going through some picturesque and serene places, it was tine for some adventure and Ranthambore National Park held up to every bit of our expectation

Safari Experience:
We also chose the morning safari since it was peaceful and encouraged chances of wildlife spotting. As we moved deeper inside the thicket, the trees stood tall erect, enhancing the harmony of nature sounds and the inner tension. All of a sudden our guide spoke in a hushed tone, “Tiger spotted!” Breathing rapidly, we were offered a view of the wonderful beast – the one covered in golden fur and shining under the morning rays. What a splendid feeling!

After an impeccable experience of a safari, we took the flight back to Delhi with grateful thanks looking back at the wonderful memories we made during the amazing road trip. The beauty of the scenic areas, the great history, and the diverse cultures of Rajasthan had fascinated and impressed us so much that we already looked forward to another trip to this beautiful state within India.

Our road trip across Rajasthan was a blast and rather huge adventure with lots of history, culture and picturesque sights.
