Things become noticeably busier by Friday, with 12 events currently scheduled.
Among them is Arts in Education: Comics and Creativity with Manix and Aria.
Wattpad will also hold PH Wattpad Live: Stories Unfiltered from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
At 4:00 PM, visitors can attend Meet & Greet the Authors: A Book Launch featuring journalist and author Howie Severino, hosted by the University of Santo Tomas.

September 12, 2026 – Saturday
If there’s one day that looks packed, it’s Saturday.
The current schedule lists 17 events, making September 12 the busiest day based on the program available as of August 6.
At 10:00 AM, Miguel Benjamin Guico and Paolo Benjamin Guico are scheduled for The Traveller Across Dimensions book launch hosted by 8Letters Bookstore & Publishing.
There will also be children’s storytelling sessions, educational programs, poetry performances and book signings throughout the day.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila will host MANGA from the NORTH, featuring conversation and activities with Malin Falch.
Later in the afternoon, Penguin Random House SEA will host The Beatles in Manila, a talk and book signing featuring author David Guerrero and moderator Lourd de Veyra, scheduled from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Summit Books also has book-signing activities during the day.

The final day currently has eight scheduled events.
PH Wattpad Live: Stories Unfiltered will run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
At 12:30 PM, Penguin Random House SEA will host The Next Love Story, a romance panel featuring Ines Bautista-Yao, Mica de Leon, Kyra Ysabel and AK Tolentino.
PSICOM Publishing will hold a book signing, while Precious Pages will host An Afternoon with PPC Authors, featuring a meet-and-greet and signing.
There is also a panel about adapting Filipino books across different mediums and the Level Up: Noel Ferrer’s Book Launch.
For romance, Wattpad and Filipino popular-fiction readers, Sunday looks particularly interesting.
Check the MIBF Floor Plan Before You Go
Here’s one tip that can save you a surprising amount of time: study the floor plan before arriving.
MIBF 2026 isn’t contained in just one small exhibition hall.
The official layout covers Exhibit Halls 1 to 4 on the ground floor, plus exhibition spaces, meeting rooms and activity areas on the second floor.
If you already know that there are five or six publishers you absolutely want to visit, locate their booths first.
Otherwise, you may spend half the day zigzagging around SMX.

How to Get to MIBF 2026
SMX Convention Center Manila is located on Seashell Lane inside the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay. It is right across from the SM Mall of Asia area, and SMX has a pedestrian connection to the mall.
If you’re commuting, one practical approach is to travel toward the Mall of Asia complex and then walk or take local transportation to SMX.
Ride-hailing services and taxis can also take you directly to the convention center, which may be the simplest option if you’re carrying several bags or planning to buy a lot of books.
If you’re driving, SMX itself has indoor parking, with thousands of additional parking spaces available around the wider Mall of Asia complex.
For a busy weekend event like MIBF, I’d personally try to arrive early rather than spend part of the afternoon dealing with heavy traffic and parking demand.
Can You Pay Using GCash or Credit Cards?
This is important.
Don’t arrive assuming every booth accepts the same payment method.
According to the official MIBF FAQ, payment methods vary depending on the exhibitor. Some exhibitors accept cards and electronic payments, but most accept cash.
MIBF therefore recommends bringing cash and checking with individual booths before buying.
My suggestion is simple: bring both.
Keep some cash available for smaller publishers and independent sellers, then use cards or e-wallets where they’re accepted.
It also makes budgeting easier.
Are Food and Drinks Allowed Inside?
Visitors are not allowed to bring food and drinks into the exhibit halls and function rooms.
However, food concessionaires will be available within the exhibition area.
And because SM Mall of Asia is nearby, there are plenty of dining options around the complex if you want to take a proper lunch break.
If you’re planning to stay from morning until evening, schedule a break.
Eight or nine hours of walking around a convention center can be surprisingly tiring.
Are Pets Allowed at MIBF?
No.
According to the official visitor guidelines, pets are not allowed inside the MIBF exhibit halls.
Best Day to Visit MIBF 2026
There isn’t one perfect day for everyone.
If your goal is mainly book shopping, I’d consider Wednesday or Thursday. You can focus on exploring booths before the busiest weekend days.
If you want a combination of shopping and Filipino literary events, Friday looks promising.
If you want the biggest selection of scheduled programs, Saturday, September 12, currently has the most activities with 17 events on the published schedule.
And if you’re into Wattpad, romance and popular Filipino fiction, Sunday has several relevant activities.
Another option?
Visit twice.

Practical Tips for Visiting Manila International Book Fair
Going to MIBF without a plan can be fun.
Going with at least a little planning can be even better.
Set a budget before entering because those “I’ll just buy one book” plans have a habit of disappearing after the third booth.
Make a list of publishers and authors you want to see, but leave enough time for random browsing.
Check the official schedule before leaving home, especially if you’re attending specifically for an author signing. The published 2026 program is still dated August 6, so changes remain possible before the event.
Wear comfortable shoes. You’re going to walk—a lot.

For book lovers, definitely.
But I think the Manila International Book Fair is worth visiting even if you only read occasionally.
You don’t need to arrive with a 20-book shopping list.
You can go because you’re looking for children’s books for your family, because you want discounted educational materials, because you’d like to meet an author, because you’re curious about Filipino comics or simply because you want to see what the country’s biggest book fair is like.
And with admission starting at only ₱50 for general visitors and ₱35 for eligible discounted visitors, it’s a relatively affordable event to explore.
What makes MIBF special isn’t just the number of books inside SMX.
It’s seeing readers line up to meet writers.
It’s discovering small Filipino publishers.
It’s kids sitting down for storytelling activities.
