My phone rang while relaxing in our hotel.
It was 9 AM and I was feeling sad because it was our last day in El Nido. Oh my, El Nido is a paradise and I am not exaggerating. Go and see for yourself.
More than the fine beaches, jaw-dropping limestones, and islands, I like its vibe. By just walking around town, I knew at that moment, that I had to come back. And when that happens, I’ll spend more time in El Nido, maybe a week or more. How am I gonna do that? I’ll find ways. Hahaha! That’s how much El Nido has captivated me.
Back to my ringing phone, It was a woman’s voice, the staff of Northern Hope Tours. She was asking if we were still in the hotel and told us that someone would pick us up to bring us to Nacpan Beach.
We were scheduled to go to Nacpan that morning. Though with a heavy heart because we were leaving that afternoon, I stood up, prepared, and met the tricycle driver outside.
I’ve heard, and read a lot about Nacpan, especially its twin beaches. It’s popular among backpackers and travelers. It’s one of the spots in El Nido that I’ve been looking forward to experience.
Adrian, our tricycle driver, told us that the travel time is about 45 minutes. Quite far from the El Nido town proper but you don’t need to worry, just relax and enjoy the lush green mountains and rice fields of the El Nido countryside.
But it wasn’t at all a smooth travel, there were a lot of rough roads. I know it can be somewhat uncomfortable to some, but I’m telling you, it’s worth it. Wait until you see Nacpan Beach.
We arrived at about 11 AM. Under the scorching heat of the sun, we saw this long stretch of golden, white beach with bluish waters and a spectacular view of some islets nearby.
“Ang ganda!” (Beautiful) exclaimed Eloi, my girlfriend. And me? I was speechless for a while. Hahaha!

It’s beautiful and unspoiled with fewer tourists and most of them are foreigners beach bumming, sunbathing under the sun.
The view was unbelievable and there was a time I questioned myself if I was really in the Philippines or what. Haha! There is a bit of truth when a popular Vlogger said that Nacpan is the world’s most beautiful beach!
We only had a short time to explore the beach. So what’s the best way to enjoy than wading in the clear waters and taking some pictures?

Eloi and I walked the entire stretch of the beach until we reached the hill. The spot we hiked to see the famous twin beaches.
Once we reached the top, we then followed the path going to the twin beaches. We were careful with our steps as we passed by a narrow path and a cliff. The view was even more spectacular there.
It’s already rainy season in the country but it felt like summer in El Nido. After enduring the unforgiving heat, we finally reached the viewing point of the twin beaches.
Finally, the twin beaches of Nacpan. Amazing!

These are actually called the twin beaches of Nacpan and Calitang, as the name of the other beach. But since Nacpan is more popular, it sometimes gets the full credit.
Going back to the beach, we suddenly realized that there’s a much easier way to go down the hill! Haha! We followed that and saw some interesting sights like cows, flowers, and plants.
We then walked again towards the seemingly endless coastline while enjoying the clear waters. Then we bought a bottle of Coke. It was really refreshing. We did chat with the tinderas for a while until we decided to look for Adrian, the driver.
As I made my final look at Nacpan, in a way I kinda’ of felt sad to see that most of the tourists there were foreigners. Where are the Filipinos? There were a handful of them, including a girl holding an umbrella to protect her porcelain skin. Haha! funny!
Maybe I was wrong. Maybe, Nacpan isn’t as popular than I thought. Whatever it is. Just go to Nacpan beach! Experience this beautiful creation of nature. I hope when I come back, I would see more Filipinos there.

How to get to Nacpan Beach, El Nido
Book a flight bound to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Once you’re at the airport, there are vans offering services going to El Nido. The price range is about 450 to 700 pesos. Haggle and choose the most affordable one. We paid 450 pesos each.
Once you’re in El Nido, you can hire a tricycle going to Nacpan, price is about 700 pesos to 1,000 pesos maximum of 4 persons.
