CASA LINA: A Great Family Staycation in San Rafael, Bulacan

If you’re looking for a suitable venue for your family gatherings or reunion and you want it to be close to the north, then our newly discovered resort in San Rafael, Bulacan is the one that you’re looking for.

Tucked in the lush forest along the Angat River, Casa Lina will give you and your family the perfect getaway, offering you your needed peace and relaxation while communing with nature.

We had a chance to visit Casa Lina in the last week of February, and it was indeed a relaxing experience. We prepared early that day because most of us were coming from the south. It was a smooth trip passing through the Skyway and NLEX until we reached the town of San Rafael.

Once we entered the town of San Rafael, we instantly felt the slower pace of life in the province. Since we’re all caught up with our busy lives in the city, San Rafael is a reminder to slow down and savor the moment.

Much more when we reached Casa Lina. There’s a farm just outside the resort, and then as you enter the property, you’ll be greeted by luscious greeneries.

It was just quite a challenge to look for the caretaker when we were there maybe because they were busy with the construction of another villa. But once we spoke to the caretaker, everything went smoothly, we were assisted going to our villa.

The Villa

The Riverside Bungalow has a spacious living room and 3 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 15 persons. We were only 4 but we still used all the rooms. I was lucky to have one room all by myself.

I liked the design of the living room. It’s so cozy and spacious, perfect for bonding moments with your friends and family. We stayed most of our time in the living room, chatting and singing the videoke. Yes, there is a videoke in the living room and we took advantage of that moment to sing our hearts out.

We also spent time in the living room by playing puzzles. It was such a nice experience bonding with my friends. Wifi is also good, so we all stayed connected even though we were located in the countryside.

The Rooms

The rooms are also spacious and have enough beds to accommodate 15 persons. If you have a family reunion or barkada outing, expect that you all will have enough space and beds for a comfortable sleep.

Cai and Mara stayed in a big room with a Double bed and a bunk bed. There was just too much space for the two of them. As for me, I stayed in another room alone. I have a big double bed and a bunk bed too. While, the couple, Aster and Patit, stayed in a room with a queen size bed.

Each room has its toilet, so it was comfortable for all of us. I had a comfortable sleep during our stay with the cool air conditioning.

The Kitchen and Billiard table

The kitchen is huge with 2 long wooden tables with enough chairs. We feasted on the vegan food prepared by Patit and Aster. And we also ordered some additional food via Food Panda. We were able to use the plates and utensils from the kitchen, and we really appreciate that the resort has a water dispenser for us to use.

You can also cook in the kitchen. There are enough kitchen wares for you to use. There’s also a grilling station outside if you want t have a barbeque party.

Of course, my friends did not miss the chance of showing their skills at playing billiards. They definitely gave Efren “Bata” Reyes a run for his money. Haha!

The Pool

In front of the villa is a pool overlooking the stunning sceneries of the Angat River. Its depth ranges from 3 feet up to 8 feet. So for non-swimmers, please be careful not to go to the deeper parts of the pool which is on the other side. If you bring your kids, be extra careful. OK?

Casa Lina

We weren’t able to use the pool that much but I know that your family will surely enjoy swimming in its relaxing waters while enjoying the vibe of nature.

Yes, nature. This is the best feature of Casa Lina. There are many parts of the resort that are not only Instagram-worthy but also calming and relaxing.

Water Activities

If you’re the fun and adventurous type, there are water activities that you can try! Enjoying kayaking on the river for as low as 500 pesos per hour. You can also rent a jet ski and enjoy it for 15 minutes for 1500 pesos.

As for us, we weren’t able to try these activities. The staff was busy with the construction of a big villa on the property.

Sidetrip in Bulacan

After enjoying an overnight stay at Casa Lina, we were able to visit some churches and historical sites in Bulacan. This is one of the best things about visiting Bulacan, there are many nature and heritage sites to explore. We visited the San Juan de Dios Parish Church or San Rafael Church.

We also did a side trip to Malolos and visit the historic Barasoain church.

Conclusion

Overall, it was an enjoyable stay at Casa Lina. Most of us are living in the bustle and hustle of city life so the vibe of the resort helped us relax. The resort is currently constructing another bigger villa for guests to enjoy. It’s clear that the management is exerting a tremendous effort to offer much better amenities for the guests.

So if you’re planning a family reunion or barkada gathering and you want it to celebrate somewhere in the north, check out this private resort. Make more memories with family and friends while communing with nature at Casa Lina in San Rafael, Bulacan.

Additional Travel Tips

  2. Bring your own food. There are just limited options for food delivery in the location. Remember the location is a little secluded, so be sure to bring food for the entire family.
  3. Don’t be shy to ask around for anything that you need. They are currently constructing another villa in the resort so the staff can be busy at times. OK?
  4. Going back to Manila. There are many good coffee shops and heritage sites like churches for a stop-over. Take advantage of that since you’re already in San Rafael.
