Cebu Pacific Honored by DSWD for Humanitarian Efforts

In a ceremony, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB) was recently recognized by the Department of Social Work and Development (DSWD) for its significant role in providing logistical support during times of calamity and disaster. The commendation took place during the DSWD’s Volunteers and Partners’ Recognition Day, an event dedicated to acknowledging the tireless efforts of those who extend their support in crisis situations.

Cebu Pacific was recognized among other government agencies, private organizations, and dedicated volunteers for their vital contribution in delivering humanitarian assistance and relief. The airline has been a crucial player in reaching out to communities hit by various calamities, offering much-needed support and aid.

Diana Rose Cajipe, the Undersecretary of DSWD-Disaster Response Management Group, expressed deep gratitude towards all partners and volunteers. She particularly noted their instrumental role in supporting the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau. Cajipe highlighted how these collaborative efforts have been pivotal in providing immediate responses to families affected by calamities, thereby alleviating the suffering of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals during such critical times.

In 2023 alone, Cebu Pacific showcased its commitment to humanitarian causes by airlifting over 258 metric tons of humanitarian cargo. This significant contribution underscores the airline’s dedication to supporting communities in their hour of need.

“We are honored to contribute to the government’s noble efforts in making a difference in the lives of those in need. Cebu Pacific’s purpose goes beyond flying—it’s about connecting and supporting communities, especially during challenging times,” said Michael Ivan Shau, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
