Cebu Pacific is set to consolidate its operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) by moving all Cebgo flights from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2. This change, part of an airport-wide reshuffling, will take effect on November 7, 2024.
Cebgo flights to popular destinations, including Busuanga, Caticlan, Cebu, Legazpi, Masbate, Naga, San Jose, Siargao, and Surigao, will now operate from Terminal 2. This relocation comes as the airport undergoes adjustments to improve efficiency for both passengers and airlines.
From November 7 onwards, Terminal 2 will temporarily host domestic flights for Philippine Airlines (PAL), Cebgo, AirAsia Philippines, and AirSWIFT Transport Inc. However, this setup is only temporary and will last until March 1, 2025, when AirAsia Philippines is expected to move to Terminal 4.
AirAsia Philippines had originally been scheduled to move to Terminal 4 sooner but requested to delay the transition to minimize passenger disruption and allow renovations at Terminal 4 to be completed. Meanwhile, AirSWIFT, which was acquired by Cebu Pacific for P1.75 billion from the Ayala Group, has already relocated its flights to Terminal 2.
Cebu Pacific emphasized its commitment to supporting airport efficiency improvements. The airline stated, “Cebu Pacific fully supports the long-term vision of NNIC and will continue to work with our partners, so plans are executed smoothly.” The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC) has been leading these changes, which aim to streamline airport operations and reduce congestion.
Looking ahead, NNIC general manager Angelito Alvarez hinted at the possibility of further terminal reassignments. The proposed future setup includes PAL’s network moving entirely to Terminal 1, Cebu Pacific‘s domestic flights at Terminal 2, all international flights (except PAL’s) at Terminal 3, and AirAsia Philippines’ domestic services moving to Terminal 4.
This latest reshuffling follows a similar move in 2023, when Terminal 2 reverted to its original role as a domestic hub.
