Bucket lists can be an incredibly personal project to take on, so it’s important to take the time and figure out how to create one that suits you.
From the multiple places around the world that you can travel to the incredible experiences out there that are waiting for you, many bucket lists have some popular items on a ton of other lists.
These are some of the most popular items and maybe some things you should consider adding to your list!

See the Northern Lights
One of the most common and most beautiful bucket list ideas is to go somewhere that will let you see the Northern Lights. Also known as the Aurora Borealis, these gorgeous dancing waves of light that are visible within the Arctic Circle have captured people’s imaginations for thousands of years.
Visible everywhere from Alaska to Finland, they’re stunning to get to see in person.
There’s also a set of lights known as the Southern Lights in the southern hemisphere that offers a similarly gorgeous view and is less common on bucket lists: but it should still be considered!
Backpack Through a Country
Backpacking is an awesome way to allow your mind to wander while you travel and put your body to work. Not only does this require a ton of planning, but it gives you the chance to connect with nature and the outside world.
Therefore, it’s important to plan this at least a year in advance so you can ensure you’ll be as comfortable as possible on your travels, instead of having to trek through snow and slush.
Learn a New Language
This is something that everyone should do that many give up on by the time they reach thirty. Being at least bilingual doubles how much of the world you can experience.
Suddenly there are new shows you can enjoy without subtitles, new music to dance and sing to, and new friends you can connect with through a shared language. It takes time and is exhausting, but learning a new language is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
Finish Writing That Book
Writing a book is something you can do for free to create something in this world that will outlive you. Not only does it give you a chance to be introspective thoroughly, but it also helps you categorize your thoughts and place them into something digestible for the world, or just your loved ones, to see.
This doesn’t have to be a memoir; it can be scifi, fantasy, or whatever you want to write: the important thing is that you write it!
Your Bucket List Should be Personalized to You
If none of these ideas sounded appealing to you: that’s okay! The best part of a bucket list is that it’s something made entirely around your wants and needs.
Accomplishing everything you want in this world before you die is a lot to take on, so it’s important to take the time to consider what matters most to you and go for it.
