For thousands of future Filipino teachers, September 20, 2026 could become one of the most important Sundays of their lives.
That’s the date of the September 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, commonly called the LET and officially referred to by the Professional Regulation Commission as the LEPT.
And we’re getting close.
The Professional Regulation Commission has already released the official examination program, including the schedule for Elementary and Secondary examinees, subject weights, examination-day requirements, allowed and prohibited items, and testing centers around the Philippines. PRC’s 2026 calendar also lists November 27, 2026 as the target date for the release of results.
There are also some important changes that examinees should know about, particularly the expanded specialization system introduced through the alignment of the LEPT with the current teacher-education curriculum.
So if you’re taking the LET this September—or you’re helping a friend, family member or former classmate prepare—here’s my comprehensive guide to the September 2026 LET, including the schedule, testing centers, room assignments, subjects, requirements, what to bring, dress code, passing grade and results.

Unlike board examinations conducted over several days, the LET is basically a one-day marathon.
And for Secondary examinees and Elementary examinees with specialization, I really mean marathon.
Their testing schedule can run from morning until 6:30 PM.
So prepare for a long day.
Not just mentally.
Physically too.
LET or LEPT: What’s the Correct Name?
You’ll see both.
Most Filipinos still search for:
LET
which traditionally stands for:
Licensure Examination for Teachers.
PRC now commonly uses:
LEPT
or:
Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.
For practical purposes, when someone says:
“Mag-LET ako sa September.”
they’re talking about the same professional teacher licensure examination.
That’s why you’ll see both terms used in this guide.
September 2026 LET Official Schedule
PRC has already released the actual examination program.
And this is something every examinee should familiarize themselves with now—not the night before the exam.
There are three different schedules depending on your category.

What’s New With the Elementary LET Specializations?
This is something older LET guides may not explain correctly anymore.
PRC and CHED aligned the teacher licensure examination with newer teacher-education programs beginning with the September 2025 LEPT and succeeding examinations.
Under the newer arrangement, Elementary-level specializations include:
Early Childhood Education
and
Special Needs Education
PRC’s 2025 Board Resolution No. 20 formally provides for these two specialization areas while retaining the traditional General Education and Professional Education-only examination for regular Bachelor of Elementary Education graduates.
BEEd Examinees
If you graduated with a regular:
Bachelor of Elementary Education
you take:
- General Education
- Professional Education
You don’t automatically take a specialization test.
BSNEd Examinees
Graduates of:
Bachelor of Special Needs Education
take:
- General Education
- Professional Education
- Special Needs Education specialization
PRC says these candidates fall under the Elementary-level specialization framework.
BECEd Examinees
Graduates of:
Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
take:
- General Education

That means these examinees have the longer schedule ending at 6:30 PM.
Secondary LET Specializations
Secondary examinees continue to take a specialization or major subject in addition to General Education and Professional Education.
But PRC’s curriculum alignment introduced changes for certain programs.
For example, the old MAPEH specialization has been aligned into separate areas involving:
Physical Education
and
Culture and Arts Education.
TLE and TVTEd Specializations
The TLE structure has also been updated.
For Technology and Livelihood Education, specialization areas include:
- Agriculture and Fishery Arts
- Home Economics
- Information and Communication Technology
- Industrial Arts
Meanwhile, Technical-Vocational Teacher Education has its own specialization focused on introductory courses and common competencies.
This is exactly why I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on old LET reviewers passed down from several batches ago.
Some fundamentals remain useful.
But the examination structure and Tables of Specifications have been updated.
What Subjects Are Covered in General Education?
General Education typically tests broad academic competencies expected of future teachers.
Rather than memorizing a random online list, use PRC’s official Enhanced Tables of Specifications as your guide because the Board for Professional Teachers designs examination questions within the approved TOS. PRC’s current Professional Teachers page links the updated TOS and curriculum-alignment resolutions.
Generally, candidates can expect competencies associated with areas such as:
- Communication
- English
- Filipino
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social sciences
- Philippine history and society
- Humanities
- Contemporary issues
The exact distribution should be studied through the official TOS rather than relying entirely on reviewer predictions.
What Is Professional Education?
Professional Education is the part where the examination becomes very clearly about being a teacher.
This section focuses on competencies involving teaching, learning, assessment and the professional responsibilities of educators.
Topics commonly revolve around areas such as:
- Principles of teaching
- Learning theories
- Curriculum development
- Assessment
- Classroom management
- Child and adolescent development
- Educational technology
- Teaching strategies
- Inclusive education
- Professional ethics
- The teaching profession

Again, review the updated PRC TOS because the licensure examination is aligned with current teacher-education outcomes and the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers.

PRC’s latest calendar reflects the addition of places such as Roxas City, Santiago City, Balangkayan and Virac for the September examination.
Virac, Catanduanes, for example, was officially added only on August 14, 2026.
LET September 2026 Overseas Testing Centers
There’s good news for some Filipinos abroad too.
PRC has designated:
Hong Kong
Thailand
Vietnam
as additional testing centers for the September 2026 LEPT.
For applicants using these overseas centers, PRC opened applications from July 15 to August 15, 2026, with applications and payments processed through LERIS and supporting documents submitted according to PRC’s overseas instructions.
This is particularly helpful for OFWs and Filipino residents abroad who would otherwise need to fly back to the Philippines just to take the examination.
September 2026 LET Room Assignments
This will probably become one of the most searched LET topics as September 20 approaches.
And as of August 19:
Most individual September LET school and room assignments have not yet been released.
Don’t panic.
That’s normal.
PRC’s official September examination program specifically instructs examinees to verify their school/building assignments approximately two to three working days before the examination date through the PRC website or official notices.
So expect searches for:

The safest method is through PRC itself.

Don’t depend only on screenshots shared in Facebook groups.
A repost might be outdated.
Use the PRC version.
Why You Should Check Your Room Assignment Immediately
Once your assignment appears, note:
- School name
- Complete address
- Building
- Room number
- Examinee sequence if indicated
- Special instructions
Then check where the school actually is.
Don’t assume you know.
There are schools with similar names.
Campuses can have multiple entrances.
Some testing locations may be far from the city center.
September 20 is not the morning to discover you went to the wrong campus.
What Time Should LET Examinees Arrive?
This is important.
PRC’s official September 2026 program says:
Report to your assigned school/building not later than 5:30 AM.
Late examinees will not be admitted.
That is much earlier than the 8:00 AM start of General Education.
Why?
Because you still need to go through:

- Security
- Seating

So please don’t say:
“8 AM naman ang exam, alis ako 7.”
No.

What to Bring to LET September 2026
PRC’s official program lists the following items.
1. Notice of Admission
Your Notice of Admission or NOA is one of the most important documents you’ll bring.
Don’t leave it on the dining table.
2. Long Transparent White Plastic Envelope
You need:
One long transparent white plastic envelope
for keeping allowed valuables and examination items.
3. Long Brown Envelope
Bring:
One long-size brown envelope.
4. No. 2 Pencils
Bring:
At least two No. 2 pencils
I’d bring more than two.
Pencils aren’t expensive.
Peace of mind is.
5. Black Ballpen
Bring a:
Ballpen with black ink only.
Not blue.
Not green.
Not that glittery pen you used for your review notes.
Black.
Bring Your Own Food
This is especially important for Secondary and specialization examinees.
PRC allows packed snacks and meals, but they must be placed in transparent or clear containers or cellophane. Examinees should also bring sufficient drinking water for the day.
And here’s something people need to know:
Food delivery during the examination is not allowed.
PRC’s program says proctors and room watchers will not allow another person—including food delivery services—to distribute food to examinees while the examination is in progress.
So don’t plan:
“Mag-GrabFood na lang ako ng lunch.”
Prepare before you leave home.
Can You Leave the Examination Room?
PRC says that, except for restroom necessities, examinees will not be allowed to leave the examination room while the exam is being conducted.
Another reason to bring everything you need.
Can You Bring a Calculator?
This depends on your category.
Elementary LET
No calculators allowed.
PRC specifically prohibits all kinds of calculators for Elementary-level LEPT examinees.
Secondary LET
For most Secondary examinees:
Calculators are also prohibited.
The exception is:
Secondary Mathematics majors
who may use calculators permitted under PRC Commission Resolution No. 1809, series of 2024.
Only one calculator per examinee is allowed, and calculators are subject to inspection and resetting before the exam.
If you’re a Math major, don’t assume your favorite calculator is automatically approved.
Check PRC’s authorized calculator list.
Items Strictly Prohibited
PRC’s September 2026 program prohibits several categories of items inside the examination premises.
These include:
- Books
- Notes
- Review materials
- Formula sheets
- Materials containing coded information
- Unauthorized calculators
- Smartwatches
- Cellular phones
- Earplugs
- Transmitters
- Portable computers
- Bluetooth devices
- Electronic gadgets capable of storing, retrieving or communicating information
- Bags such as backpacks, shoulder bags and attaché cases
- Other examination aids not specifically authorized.
That means your smartwatch isn’t just a watch in PRC’s eyes.
Leave it somewhere safe.

For domestic testing centers, PRC’s official 2026 calendar set the application period at:

That period has already closed.
So if you haven’t applied for September 2026, you generally need to look toward a future LEPT schedule rather than trying to file a late regular application.
How Much Is the LET Examination Fee?
PRC’s current professional-teacher requirements page lists the fee for a complete examination at:

Basic LET Application Requirements
PRC’s professional-teacher requirements include:
PSA Birth Certificate
PSA Marriage Certificate/Contract
For married female applicants when applicable.
Transcript of Records
The TOR should contain a scanned photograph and the remarks:
“For Board Examination Purposes.”
Educational qualification requirements vary depending on the applicant’s degree and examination level.
Requirements for Elementary Applicants
PRC’s standard requirement identifies BEEd/BSEEd or its applicable equivalent for Elementary teacher candidates, while the newer curriculum-alignment guidelines separately address BECEd and BSNEd graduates and their specialization examinations.
Because of the newer curriculum alignment, this is one situation where candidates should follow the specific instructions shown in their LERIS application and PRC evaluation rather than using an old checklist from previous batches.
Requirements for Secondary Applicants
PRC’s requirements recognize:
Bachelor of Secondary Education
or qualifying equivalent programs.
Certain allied bachelor’s-degree graduates may also qualify subject to the required professional-education units and applicable PRC rules. The current PRC requirement page refers to at least 18 units in Professional Education for applicable non-BSEd degree holders.
LERIS: Where LET Applications Are Processed
PRC applications are handled through its Licensure Examination and Registration Information System, better known as:
LERIS
Applicants create an account, complete their profile, select the examination, choose available appointment details and complete payment and documentary procedures according to PRC instructions. PRC also required overseas September LEPT applicants to apply and pay through LERIS.
If you’re already approved for September, you should now be focused more on your Notice of Admission, room assignment and exam-day preparation.
What Is the LET Passing Grade?
The long-standing PRC standard for the professional teacher licensure examination requires an examinee to obtain an:
Average rating of at least 75%
with:
No rating below 50% in any test.
This is one reason you don’t want to focus exclusively on your strongest subject.
A strong Professional Education score won’t magically make an extremely weak component irrelevant.
Balance matters.
Is the LET Difficult?
Yes.
But the difficulty is different for every batch and every examinee.
For some perspective, the March 2026 LEPT produced:
Elementary
18,376 passers out of 32,796 examinees
or:
56.03%
Secondary
45,001 passers out of 61,561 examinees
or:
73.10%
Those are actually relatively strong passing percentages compared with some previous LET batches.
But don’t look at a percentage and assume September will be easier or harder.
Every batch is different.
Your job is simply to prepare for the exam in front of you.
How to Prepare in the Final Month Before LET
At this stage, I wouldn’t recommend trying to relearn your entire four-year degree from page one.
Focus.
Follow the Table of Specifications
The updated TOS tells you which competencies the examination is designed to assess. PRC links the current TOS and updated teacher-education alignment rules through the Board for Professional Teachers.
That should guide your review more than random “100% lalabas sa LET” posts online.
Practice Answering Under Time Pressure
Knowing an answer during relaxed review is one thing.
Recognizing it when you’re tired and the clock is moving is another.
Take timed practice tests.
Learn how long you can reasonably spend on one question.
If you’re completely stuck, don’t allow one item to consume ten minutes of your life.
Move.
Come back if possible.
Understand, Don’t Just Memorize
Memorization is obviously part of board-exam preparation.
But comprehension matters enormously in Professional Education.
Instead of memorizing:
“The answer is B.”
ask:
“Why is B correct?”
If the actual exam changes the scenario, you still understand the concept.
Pay Attention to Your Specialization
For Secondary and Elementary-with-specialization candidates, the specialization accounts for:
40%
of your overall rating.
That’s huge.
Treat it accordingly.
Stop Collecting Reviewers
You probably already have enough PDFs.
Seriously.
At some point, collecting reviewer files starts feeling productive even when you’re not actually studying them.
One hundred reviewers saved on your phone won’t help if you’ve only opened four.
Choose good materials.
Finish them.
Review your mistakes.
Take Care of Your Body
Your brain is part of the equipment you’re bringing to the LET.
Get enough sleep.
Eat properly.
Drink water.
Move around.
Don’t spend the final week surviving entirely on instant coffee and anxiety.
You need endurance for September 20.
Prepare Everything the Night Before
Set aside:

Then add extra travel time.

September 20 isn’t some distant date on your review calendar anymore.
It’s almost here.
You may still have topics you don’t completely understand.
You may still get disappointing scores on practice tests.
You may open social media and see someone claiming they’ve already memorized 14 reviewers while you’re still struggling with one.
Ignore the noise.
Come back to what matters.
Know the updated coverage.
Follow the official PRC Tables of Specifications.
Practice answering questions.
Strengthen the topics where you’re weak.
Prepare your examination documents.
Check your room assignment once PRC releases it.
And on September 20, arrive at your testing center before the required 5:30 AM reporting time with everything you need.
Then do what you’ve spent months preparing to do.
The September LEPT is one long examination day.
But on the other side of that day is the possibility of something you’ve probably imagined many times:
Seeing your name on the list of passers.
PRC currently targets November 27, 2026 for the release of results.
And when that day finally comes, hopefully the letters after your name will change forever.
