Maple Grove in General Trias: Complete Guide to the Green City of the South

If you’ve been driving around the northern side of General Trias lately, there’s a good chance you’ve noticed how much this part of Cavite has changed.

What used to feel like a corridor you simply passed through on the way to Tanza, Kawit, or other parts of the province is gradually turning into a major commercial and residential district. One of the developments driving that transformation is Maple Grove, Megaworld’s massive township along the Antero Soriano Highway and EPZA Diversion Road area in General Trias.

And Maple Grove isn’t being planned as just another subdivision or condominium complex.

The 140-hectare development is envisioned as a complete township combining homes, offices, commercial establishments, parks, wide roads, landscaped spaces, and eventually a much larger business district. Megaworld describes it as Cavite’s emerging modern central business district, with a 35-hectare commercial district inspired by Makati.

For people living in Gen. Trias, this is one of those places worth watching because Maple Grove gives us a glimpse of what the city may look like several years from now.

But you don’t have to be buying a condominium or investing in commercial property to be interested in Maple Grove.

You can visit simply to explore the township, have coffee or a meal, attend an event, take an afternoon drive, or see how this part of General Trias is developing.

Here’s a closer look at Maple Grove.

What Is Maple Grove?

Maple Grove is a 140-hectare mixed-use township developed by Megaworld Corporation in General Trias, Cavite.

The concept is similar to the township model Megaworld has used in places such as Eastwood City, McKinley Hill and Iloilo Business Park: instead of developing only residential buildings, the company plans an entire district where people can potentially live, work, shop, dine and spend their leisure time within the same general area.

At Maple Grove, however, greenery plays a particularly prominent role.

Megaworld positions the project as a modern “green” central business district, incorporating landscaped open spaces and parks alongside residential towers, offices and commercial developments. Its master plan includes an expansive Central Park and a roughly 35-hectare commercial district.

That combination is what makes Maple Grove interesting.

It’s attempting to bring something resembling the feel of a master-planned Metro Manila business district into Cavite while retaining more open space and greenery.

And considering how rapidly General Trias is urbanizing, that’s a pretty ambitious idea.

Where Is Maple Grove in General Trias?

Maple Grove is located along the Antero Soriano Highway/EPZA Diversion Road corridor in Barangay Tejero, General Trias, Cavite.

This puts it on the northern side of Gen. Trias rather than around the Manggahan and Governor’s Drive area that many people immediately associate with the city.

Megaworld’s official page for The Verdin gives its location as Maple Grove, EPZA Diversion Road, Barangay Tejero, General Trias City.

That’s an important distinction if you’re visiting for the first time because General Trias is much larger than people sometimes realize.

If you simply tell a driver, “GenTri lang,” you could end up surprisingly far from Maple Grove.

Search specifically for Maple Grove General Trias on your navigation app.

Why Is Maple Grove Called the “Green City of the South”?

The nickname makes more sense once you understand the overall master plan.

Instead of filling practically every available section with buildings, Maple Grove has been designed around landscaped spaces, parks, pedestrian-friendly areas and greener streets.

Megaworld’s plans have included several parks and open spaces surrounding the commercial district, with a larger Central Park serving as one of its defining elements.

This doesn’t mean Maple Grove today is already a fully mature, tree-covered business district.

That’s an important distinction.

The township is still developing.

Some parts are already recognizable and active, while other elements remain part of a larger master plan that will take years to fully materialize.

So when you visit, think less “finished BGC in Cavite” and more “a new business district taking shape.”

Personally, I find that part interesting.

Sometimes it’s fun to revisit a developing area every year or two and see how completely different it looks.

Maple Grove is one of those places.

What Can You Find Inside Maple Grove?

Maple Grove is composed of several different residential, commercial, office and recreational developments.

Some are more advanced than others, so it’s useful to understand what the township is eventually supposed to become.

1. Maple Grove Commercial District

One of the biggest parts of the master plan is the Maple Grove Commercial District.

Megaworld originally announced approximately 35 hectares for this Makati-inspired section of the township. The idea is to create an organized business district containing offices, commercial establishments and other urban developments surrounded by greener public areas.

This is arguably the most important component when you’re looking at Maple Grove from a long-term perspective.

Condos and residential villages can create a community.

But offices, restaurants, shops and businesses create a city district.

As more establishments eventually open, Maple Grove could increasingly function as one of northern General Trias’ commercial centers rather than simply being known as a property development.

2. Maple Grove Parade

Maple Grove Parade is emerging as one of the township’s more visible lifestyle and gathering areas.

And this is where Maple Grove starts becoming interesting even for people who aren’t residents.

The area has already been used for public activities. For example, the Cavite Day Expo was held at Maple Grove Parade in 2025, featuring Cavite products, food, cultural performances, local businesses and other activities.

Events like this give you an idea of where Maple Grove could be heading.

Instead of creating a district that becomes empty after office hours, the goal appears to be a more lifestyle-oriented environment where people can meet, dine, attend events or simply spend some time outdoors.

Watch out for bazaars, seasonal celebrations, weekend activities and other special events because these can be among the best times to visit.

3. Central Park and Green Spaces

One of the most anticipated components of Maple Grove is its Central Park.

The official township plan identifies a major Central Park together with additional landscaped and green spaces throughout the development.

This could eventually become one of the biggest reasons ordinary Caviteños visit Maple Grove.

Urban parks matter.

As General Trias becomes denser, residents increasingly need places where they can walk, jog, sit outside, take children, or simply get away from traffic without traveling all the way to Tagaytay.

Maple Grove’s emphasis on open spaces could therefore become just as important as its condos and commercial buildings.

Just keep in mind that the township remains under development, so don’t assume every park or amenity shown in the master plan is already fully completed and accessible.

Residential Developments Inside Maple Grove

Maple Grove isn’t only a business district.

A major part of its concept involves having people actually live within the township.

Several residential developments have been introduced.

The Verdin at Maple Grove

The Verdin was Maple Grove’s first residential condominium development.

It’s a 10-storey building with 140 residential units, with Megaworld incorporating sustainability-related features such as solar-powered outlets in selected areas, recycled materials and energy-generating fitness equipment into the project’s design.

The relatively low-rise design is interesting when compared with the very tall residential towers you see in Makati or BGC.

It fits the general idea of creating an urban district without making everything feel overly dense.

La Cassia Residences

La Cassia Residences followed as another condominium development within Maple Grove.

The 16-storey project contains 238 units and was designed around the township’s emphasis on greenery and landscaped spaces.

Again, what stands out here isn’t necessarily the height or size of the building.

It’s how these residential projects fit into the bigger township.

The eventual idea is that residents won’t simply leave their condominium, get into their cars and drive elsewhere for everything they need.

Commercial areas, workplaces, recreation and green spaces are intended to be integrated into the surrounding community.

Maple Grove Park Village

Then there’s Maple Grove Park Village, which offers an entirely different type of living.

Instead of condominium units, this is a gated residential village within the township.

Megaworld says the community was designed by international design firm WATG and incorporates as many as 10 parks and communal gardens inspired by spa and wellness environments.

The development became even more tangible in 2026 when details and images of its large resort-inspired clubhouse were unveiled. The clubhouse covers about 3,806 square meters and was designed around indoor-outdoor recreation and wellness.

This tells you a lot about how Megaworld is positioning Maple Grove.

It’s not supposed to feel purely corporate.

They’re trying to balance a business-district atmosphere with suburban living.

Offices and the Future Business District

Residential developments are only one half of the story.

For Maple Grove to genuinely become a CBD, people also need to work there.

One Corporate Place was introduced as Maple Grove’s first major office development, forming part of the township’s emerging commercial ecosystem.

This is particularly important for General Trias.

For decades, many Cavite residents have worked in Metro Manila and spent hours commuting back and forth.

The long-term promise of developments like Maple Grove is different.

What if more Cavite residents could have professional office jobs without having to travel to Makati, Ortigas or BGC every day?

That’s the bigger story.

Of course, one township alone won’t eliminate the Cavite-to-Manila commute.

But every major office project that brings employment farther south helps change the economic geography of the province.

Instead of Cavite simply functioning as a bedroom community for Metro Manila, places like General Trias can increasingly become employment centers themselves.

Maple Grove’s Future Lifestyle Mall

Another major component of the master plan is a lifestyle mall.

Megaworld has long included retail and commercial development in its plans for the township, although visitors should distinguish between announced future components and facilities that are already fully operational. The company’s current township description continues to characterize Maple Grove as a rising CBD that is still taking shape.

That distinction matters if you’re planning a visit.

Don’t arrive expecting Maple Grove to already have the density of restaurants, shops and entertainment you’ll find in an established township such as Eastwood.

It’s growing toward that.

And that makes visiting today a different experience.

What Can You Do at Maple Grove?

So here’s the obvious question:

If you aren’t buying property, why visit?

There are actually several reasons.

Take an Afternoon Drive

This might sound overly simple, but Maple Grove is one of those places that’s enjoyable to explore if you’re curious about how Cavite is changing.

Drive around the township.

Look at the wide streets.

Check out the new developments.

Stop for coffee.

See what’s under construction.

If you live nearby, it makes an easy spontaneous afternoon trip without needing a complicated itinerary.

Have Coffee or Meet Friends

As commercial activity develops around Maple Grove, the area is becoming a convenient meeting point for people coming from General Trias, Tanza, Kawit and nearby communities.

It’s particularly suitable if you want somewhere newer and less hectic than some of Cavite’s established commercial centers.

The atmosphere can feel quite different from traditional town centers dominated by tightly packed establishments and heavy traffic.

Check Out Maple Grove Parade

If there’s an event happening, Maple Grove Parade is worth checking.

Special activities are when these township spaces really come alive.

You might encounter food stalls, local products, performances, bazaars or seasonal events depending on the schedule.

Before visiting specifically for an event, check Maple Grove’s current social media announcements because schedules naturally change.

Walk Around and Take Photos

The township’s wide boulevards, landscaping and newer architecture make it an appealing place for casual photography.

As more of the green areas mature, I think this is something Maple Grove will become increasingly known for.

Late afternoon is probably the nicest time.

You’ll avoid the harsh midday Cavite heat and get softer lighting for photos.

Go for a Casual Date

You don’t always need Tagaytay for a simple Cavite date.

You could meet for coffee, have dinner, walk around for a while and just enjoy the surroundings.

Maple Grove works especially well for low-key dates where the goal isn’t necessarily to visit a major attraction.

Sometimes you just want somewhere pleasant to talk.

Best Time to Visit Maple Grove

For casual visitors, I would choose late afternoon through early evening.

Around 4:00 PM onward is ideal.

The temperature starts becoming more comfortable, walking around is easier and you can stay until dinner.

Weekends naturally have more leisure visitors, while weekdays may give you a quieter look at the township.

Special events are a different story.

If there’s a bazaar, festival, Christmas activity or community event happening at Maple Grove Parade, I’d plan the visit around that schedule instead.

How to Get to Maple Grove General Trias

Maple Grove’s location is one of its strongest advantages.

It sits along the northern General Trias corridor, with access toward CAVITEX and other major roads serving Cavite.

Megaworld estimates approximately 30 to 45 minutes between Maple Grove and Makati or Fort Bonifacio via CAVITEX under favorable travel conditions. Real-world travel times can obviously be much longer depending on traffic.

By Private Car

The easiest option is to search:

Maple Grove, General Trias, Cavite

on your preferred navigation app.

If you’re coming from Metro Manila, CAVITEX is one of the main approaches toward this side of Cavite.

If you’re already in General Trias, your route will depend on whether you’re coming from Manggahan, Poblacion, Lancaster, Governor’s Drive or another area.

One useful improvement came in 2024 when the road connecting Maple Grove with General Trias town proper was formally opened. The city government said the connection was intended to reduce travel time between the Poblacion and Antero Soriano Highway.

That’s another example of how Maple Grove is becoming more integrated into the rest of the city.

By Public Transportation

From Metro Manila, PITX is generally the most convenient starting point for public transportation toward this side of Cavite.

Buses traveling toward Tanza, Naic or similar destinations may use the Antero Soriano corridor, but routes can change, so tell the conductor that you’re going specifically to Maple Grove in General Trias and confirm that the bus will pass the correct area before boarding.

Once you’re nearby, short local transfers may be necessary depending on your exact destination inside the township.

And again, don’t simply say “General Trias.”

Give the exact landmark.

GenTri is big.

Maple Grove and the Growth of General Trias

This is probably the part I find most interesting.

Maple Grove isn’t developing in isolation.

It’s part of a much bigger transformation happening throughout General Trias.

For a long time, people outside Cavite mostly associated Gen. Trias with residential subdivisions, factories and the Cavite Economic Zone.

Those things are still important.

But the city is becoming much more diversified.

There are malls.

Business districts.

New road networks.

Hospitals.

Schools.

Large residential communities.

Restaurants.

Parks.

Warehouses.

Industrial estates.

And increasingly, higher-end mixed-use developments.

Maple Grove represents that next stage.

Instead of residents always traveling toward Metro Manila for business and leisure, the goal is to bring more of those opportunities into Cavite itself.

Why the Location Makes Sense

General Trias sits in a particularly interesting position.

Go north and you’re moving toward Kawit, CAVITEX and Metro Manila.

Go west and you’re heading deeper into Tanza and the coastal towns.

Move south and you’re connected toward Trece Martires and other central Cavite communities.

Head east and you’re approaching Dasmariñas and eventually routes leading toward Metro Manila and Laguna.

Maple Grove is therefore sitting near an important crossroads between residential Cavite, industrial Cavite and Metro Manila.

Megaworld specifically describes the township as being near the entry point to the industrial and residential center of the Cavite-Batangas corridor.

That explains why such a large business district is being developed here in the first place.

Is Maple Grove Already Finished?

No.

And this is something worth emphasizing.

Maple Grove is a long-term township development.

Even Megaworld’s current official description says Cavite’s rising central business district is “taking shape” at Maple Grove.

That means what you see today isn’t necessarily what Maple Grove will look like five or ten years from now.

Some developments have progressed significantly.

Others remain under construction.

Still others are part of future phases.

So when you see promotional illustrations showing mature trees, packed commercial streets, major parks and a completely built-out CBD, understand that those images represent the larger vision.

Visiting today gives you a snapshot of a township still becoming that place.

Is Maple Grove Worth Visiting?

If you’re traveling from another province specifically looking for a major Cavite tourist attraction, Maple Grove probably shouldn’t be at the top of your list.

You have Tagaytay, Corregidor-related heritage sites, historical attractions, churches, festivals and many other destinations throughout Cavite that are more traditional tourist experiences.

But that’s not really what Maple Grove is.

It’s a lifestyle district.

And if you live in General Trias, Tanza, Kawit, Imus, Bacoor, Dasmariñas or nearby areas, it’s absolutely worth knowing about.

Come for coffee.

Attend an event.

Meet friends.

Explore the township.

Have dinner.

Drive around.

See what’s new.

Then return a year later and notice what’s changed.

That’s probably the best way to experience Maple Grove right now.

Tips Before Visiting

A few simple things are worth keeping in mind:

  • Visit in the late afternoon if you plan to walk around.
  • Use “Maple Grove General Trias” rather than simply “General Trias” on navigation apps.
  • Check current event schedules before traveling specifically for Maple Grove Parade.
  • Expect ongoing development and construction in some sections.
  • Don’t assume every facility shown in the master plan is already open.
  • Bring sun protection if you’re visiting during daytime.
  • Weekdays are better if you prefer a quieter atmosphere.
  • Weekends and event days are better if you want more activity.
  • Allow extra travel time when coming from Metro Manila because Cavite traffic can dramatically change estimated journey times.

Maple Grove vs. a Traditional Mall

This is another useful way of thinking about it.

If your only goal is shopping, you’ll probably find an established mall more convenient.

Maple Grove is something different.

You’re visiting an entire district rather than one building.

Over time, the idea is that you could have offices, residences, shops, restaurants, parks and entertainment all interconnected.

That’s why comparing Maple Grove solely to a mall misses the point.

A better comparison would be an early-stage version of a township such as Eastwood, McKinley Hill or Iloilo Business Park.

Whether Maple Grove eventually reaches that level of activity will depend on how the development evolves over the coming years.

Maple Grove as a Future Cavite CBD

Calling something a “CBD” is easy.

Actually becoming one takes time.

You need businesses.

Employees.

Residents.

Restaurants.

Transportation.

Commercial activity.

Public spaces.

Schools and services nearby.

Most importantly, you need people using the district every day.

Maple Grove already has the master plan and several major residential and commercial pieces in place, but the fascinating part will be seeing how much everyday activity develops around them.

If offices fill up, residents move in, retail expands and its public spaces become destinations in their own right, then Maple Grove could become one of Cavite’s most important urban centers.

And that would be significant not only for General Trias but for the province as a whole.

Maple Grove

Final Thoughts

I’ve always found General Trias interesting because the city doesn’t really have just one identity anymore.

Some parts still feel provincial.

Other areas are heavily industrial.

There are enormous residential communities.

And then you enter places like Maple Grove and suddenly you’re looking at wide boulevards, modern buildings, landscaped spaces and plans for a full-scale central business district.

That’s GenTri today.

It’s changing quickly.

Maple Grove is one of the clearest examples of that transformation.

The 140-hectare township brings together residential developments, office spaces, commercial districts, green areas and lifestyle destinations in an ambitious attempt to create a modern Cavite CBD.

But perhaps the most interesting thing about Maple Grove right now is that the story isn’t finished.

Come back in a few years and the place may look completely different.

For residents of General Trias, that’s what makes Maple Grove worth paying attention to. It’s more than another real estate project along the highway.

It’s one of the places helping shape what the next version of Gen. Trias could become.
