We tried the Music 21 Barkada Package. Here’s what happened.

My friends and I decided to meet up and watch some movies. I wasn’t particularly fond of the movie itself, but I went along with it because spending time with friends is much more important these days, no matter how horrible the movie might be. Haha! Hello, I’m looking at you, Shake Rattle and Roll Extreme. Haha!

Since I’m from Cavite, I will be putting in the most effort for this meetup. So, it has to be worth it. I reminded them that we should plan to go somewhere after the movie, okay? A place where we can eat, chat, and have fun. I was expecting my friends to suggest something like dinner at a restaurant, but since we hadn’t enjoyed karaoke singing in a long time, we decided on a karaoke night. After watching a movie , we headed to the Music 21 branch in Makati.

Eric, the official planner of our group, suggested we try Music 21. The good news is that they have an ongoing Barkada Package for only 3,000 pesos! For the four of us, this is a great deal. The Barkada Package is good for 5 people and includes 3 hours of karaoke fun. They offer 4 options, so you can choose which food or drinks are suitable for your group.

Option 1:

• Your choice of 15 local beers, soft drinks or juice.
• 1 Nachos Family
• 1 Fried Platter

 

Option 2:

• Your choice of 2 pitchers of drinks. (Zombie, Margarita, Screwdriver, Rhum Coke & Tequilla Sunrise)
• 1 Nachos Family
• 1 Fried Platter

 

Option 3:

• Your choice of 5 Jinro-flavored Soju (Grapefruit, Strawberry, Apple Blueberry, Grape & Fresh)
• 1 Nachos Family
• 1 Fried Platter

 

Option 4:

• Crispy Pata
• Sizzling Sisig
• Pancit Bihon
• 5 choices of local beers, juices or soft drinks

As for us, since we’re not getting any younger and don’t drink as much now, we chose option 4. We enjoyed feasting on Crispy Pata, Sisig, and Pancit while singing our hearts out to tunes from the 80s and 90s, all the way to Taylor Swift songs.

One to two bottles of San Mig Light was just enough for us; what’s important is that we got to enjoy each other’s company. I’ve been to Music 21 many times, mostly with my previous co-workers, but nothing compares to singing Karaoke with your closest friends. I can say that the entire meetup leading up to the karaoke night was so worth it. For this friendship, I’m always willing to go the extra mile, traveling from Cavite to Manila.
