SELAH GARDEN HOTEL: The Ultimate Staycation Experience in Pasay

That week was epic.

It could have been the worst and most stressful time at the office for me so far, with a ridiculous workload. Unbelievable.

I was, quite understandably, stressed and in desperate need of a break from it all! Fortunately, I received an invitation from Selah Garden Hotel in Pasay for a staycation.

Despite it being Saturday, I found myself at the office. Yes, imagine this: after the most stressful week at work, you end up with Saturday duties. Haha! So, immediately after work, I headed straight for the hotel. It was around 8 PM when I arrived. I made my way directly to the gazebo where dinner was being served. Perfect timing, right? Haha

Beyond the food, I noticed that Selah offered a different kind of hotel experience. It was edgy and environmentally friendly. I was in awe at my first glimpse of the interior. Could there really be a place like this? A serene garden nestled amidst the chaos of Pasay City, enclosed by the hotel’s structure.

Upon my arrival, Mr. Mario Almeida, the General Manager, and Ms. Che Tolosa, the Sales and Marketing Director, greeted me with a handshake, signaling a warm welcome. I remember telling myself, “I’m going to enjoy this hotel.”

And enjoy it I did. We had a fabulous dinner.

The evening was so enjoyable that what started as dinner extended into a mini drinking session with blogger friends and the hotel’s top executives.

Rooms and Accommodation

It was time to rest.

We were assigned to Selah’s Flagship Room, which can accommodate up to 2 to 3 people, priced at around 3,650 PHP (73 USD) per night.

The room, as well as the washroom, was immaculately clean. I had a restful night’s sleep, probably due to the air conditioning. I was so relaxed that Jerny complained about my snoring the next day. Haha.

But that’s not all. In addition to the flagship room, Selah offers a variety of other accommodations to suit your needs, whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a group.

Their room options include Cozy Rooms, Fabulous Suites, and Fantastic and Fabulous Lofts. For prices, you can check their website, or you may book through Agoda, which I highly recommend for the best prices and discounts.

We’re not done yet. Haha!

Can you believe it? Selah Hotel, with its luxurious vibe and design, also caters to backpackers with its Bunk and Clique Rooms! These are also perfect for a ‘barkada‘ (group of friends) staycation. So, if your work team or friend group is looking for an amazing staycation, these rooms are ideal!

Selah boasts top-notch facilities like an infinity pool, an in-house restaurant, and a spa.

They’ve taken it to the next level with treetop adventure facilities, such as wall climbing, zip-lining, free fall, and other adventure courses, ideal for team-building exercises and family outings.

I couldn’t try these activities because I arrived at the hotel at about 8 PM, remember? After working on the weekend. Nice, right? Haha.

However, the rest of the gang thoroughly enjoyed themselves. My fellow bloggers—Marge (Coffeehan), Jerny, Cathy (EscapesandDiaries), Pancake, and Chiki (Turista Boy)—had a blast! Just look at their photos.

Breakfast Buffet

Selah greeted us with a breakfast buffet offering a variety of meal choices. As someone who loves breakfast, I found it delightful. The tocino, sausages with garlic rice, and my coffee made for a perfect morning. CHECK ROOM RATES HERE

Scuba Diving Lesson!

Following a hearty breakfast, we had some free time in the lounge area by the pool to relax and enjoy our coffee, which was just enough time to gear up for Selah’s next activity for us: the Try Diving Course!

The hotel’s infinity pool features a section that is 10 feet deep, specifically for diving lessons.

Dive Raid Philippines provided our diving instructions. It began with a simple yet comprehensive briefing by dive instructors Chris and Eric, who were exceptional in teaching the basics we needed to know before heading to the pool. Their patience with us during the pool session was remarkable.

They taught us essential skills, such as how to clear water from the mask while diving and how to equalize to relieve ear and head pressure, among other things.

Marge, Jerny, and I were in the first group, led by Chris. Breathing underwater for the first time was an incredible experience, haha!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle???

The Try Diving course costs 2,700 PHP per session. I can confidently say that it provides the necessary foundation to dive in Anilao—under an instructor’s guidance, of course. This diving course is a valuable experience and is sure to spark the scuba diver within you.

Final Words

Let’s be honest. When we hear about Pasay City, the image that often comes to mind is one of chaos and weariness. Haha.

While the city has seen improvements with developments like MOA and other establishments, some still view it as chaotic—and I agree, having worked there myself. Haha! But nestled within the dense urban jungle is a haven capable of melting away all your stress and worry. That’s precisely what Selah Garden Hotel provided for me.

Sayang nga eh di ako nakapag tree top adventure (busy kasi sa work LOL). At totoo yan kailangan talaga malaman ng mga tao na may ganitong hotel sa Pasay. Dami na nga friends and readers na nagtatanong sakin about Selah. 😉 Kailangan din nilang ma try ang Selah
