Whenever I travel to Quezon, Buddy’s restaurant is definitely my favorite. It’s always my go-to food place in the province. But did you know that you don’t need to visit Quezon just to try this popular Filipino restaurant? They also have branches in Metro Manila, specifically in Taguig.
During my recent staycation in Taguig to meet my high school friends, we decided to have breakfast at the Venice Grand Canal Mall, renowned for its canals reminiscent of Venice, Italy.
It was such a delightful experience to be back at this mall after many years and be able to explore it with friends again. That morning, we were craving for delectable Filipino dishes, and what better way to satisfy that craving than at Buddy’s—a fiesta-themed restaurant.
Buddy’s, inspired by the Pahiyas festival in Lucban, Quezon, serves traditional Filipino cuisine. They have multiple branches in Quezon, but fortunately, they have expanded to Metro Manila, including the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig.

The Ambiance
Buddy’s restaurant consistently echoes the festive Pahiyas Festival—one of the most vibrant festivals in the Philippines, where houses are adorned with colorful harvests. This theme is seamlessly integrated into Buddy’s décor, creating a festive and welcoming atmosphere similar to a provincial fiesta.
The Food and Menu
Buddy’s boasts a wide selection of Filipino food, from favorites like Crispy Pata and Lumpiang Shanghai to fiesta staples. They also offer vegetarian options like Chop Suey and Fresh Lumpia, and their diverse menu includes Sizzling Steaks, All-Day Breakfast, BBQ, and even Pizza.
For our meal, the three of us ordered generously. Eric chose the hearty Pancit Lucban for 277 pesos, while Joey opted for the sizzling Beef Steak at 270 pesos.
As for me, starving that morning, I decided to indulge in the Longsilog Lucban for 190 pesos and a Pork BBQ meal for 193 pesos. Yes, I had 2 meals. Haha!
The food is served hot, so expect a short wait. A time that we used for a good chat. The servings were ample; the Pancit Lucban appeared enough for three people, which was perfect for us. The beef steak was tender and satisfying. We complemented our food with a large pitcher of iced tea.
For someone like me who loves breakfast meals, I definitely enjoyed my Lucban Longganisa and the tender Pork Barbeque.
For those looking to bring some pasalubong, Buddy’s also offers Pancit in various Bilao sizes, with the large Bilao which is good for 20 to 25 people.
Overall, we enjoyed our meals at Buddy’s. It was a pleasure to spend time with my high school friends, and what a fantastic way to wrap up our staycation in Taguig with the home-style meals from Buddy’s.
