My nephew and niece always choose Zark’s Burger when they’re craving burgers and chicken. I can’t blame them. Although it’s a bit more expensive than typical fast-food options, the quality and flavors make it all worthwhile.
Founded in 2009 by Zark Varona, a former seafarer, Zark’s Burger started as his venture using savings to open a burger joint. Varona launched the first Zark’s Burger in Taft, Manila, aiming to offer fresh, substantial burgers at reasonable prices. Now, Zark’s has numerous branches across major locations and malls throughout the Philippines.
During our initial visits to Zark’s at SM Trece Martires, we usually order its famous burgers, such as the Thunder Mac N’ Cheese and the Three Pointer. These burgers are not only larger in size but also superior in taste, making us loyal patrons. On a subsequent visit, we explored more options from their menu, including Buffalo wings served with rice. My personal favorites are the Honey Buffalo and Southern Classic flavors.
Recently, we returned to Zark’s. My niece and nephew wanted to use their “pamasko” to buy new clothes, and naturally, we needed a place to eat. Since it had been a few weeks since our last visit, we all agreed to dine at Zark’s Burger once more.
Upon our arrival, the staff greeted my niece with a warm “welcome back,” noting that it had been a while since we last visited. I was not only impressed with the staff’s memory but also with the overall customer experience.
This time, we ordered quite a variety. The kids each chose Buffalo wings with rice with different flavors. I opted to try the Boneless Fried Chicken sandwich meal, as I enjoy sampling new dishes each time I visit a familiar restaurant. We also ordered Nachos and Onion Rings, which Zark’s playfully calls “The Big O.”
As always, we enjoyed the entire experience. We engaged in lively conversations on various topics while savoring our meals. My nephew and niece even ordered extra rice, proof that they enjoyed the food.
As for the Boneless Fried Chicken sandwich meal, I found it pleasing and satisfactory. While I wouldn’t describe it as outstanding, it offers fair value for its price. The Caribbean BBQ flavor I selected was crispy on the outside yet juicy inside, and it’s really boneless and easy to eat.
Overall, our experience at Zark’s was still enjoyable. I am confident we will return when our cravings for good burgers and chicken arise again.
