Black Pink 199 Unli Samgyupsal: Affordable & Good Food (Review)

As I was walking along the highway outside the neighborhood, I noticed a sign on a new building that caught my attention: “Black Pink 199 Unlimited Samgyupsal.”

The name itself is intriguing, especially for KPop fans. For me, the real intrigue was the Unli Samgyupsal for P199! At first, I shrugged it off, telling myself I’d visit one of these days.

New Samgyupsal in town. 😉

But my niece and nephew were actually aware of the newly opened Samgyupsal, and when I mentioned it to them, they asked me to take them there.

As the self-proclaimed “Tito of the Year,” I felt obliged to fulfill their wish. So, one afternoon, we walked from our house to Black Pink 199 to try the resto.

Black Pink 199 Experience

The restaurant is located at the top of the new SBG Building in Gen. Trias, Cavite. Everything is outdoors, so we picked the most comfortable and shaded table.

I checked the menu and the staff told me that their 199 Unli Samgyupsal includes unli pork and unli side dishes, but with a catch. To have unli cheese and unli Kimchi, I had to upgrade to P299.

I hadn’t researched the restaurant prior to our visit, so I went with the staff’s recommendation. Trusting them, I upgraded to P299 per person for the unli Kimchi, because that’s what my “Disney Princess” niece wanted. For the three of us, that totaled P897. My four-year-old nephew was free of charge.

We literally just walked from home to Black Pink 199 Samgyupsal.

it’s outdoors, but we got a nice spot.

For P199 or P299, Black Pink 199 Samgyup is a good deal. You get unlimited pork and a good variety of side dishes. I didn’t scrutinize their side dish offerings; I just enjoyed whatever they brought us.

According to their Facebook Page, here’s the selection of their side dishes for P199 Unli Samgyupsal: Unli Pork, Kimchi, Pipino Vinegar, Sweet Corn, Atchara Singkamas, Sweet Saba, Sweet Camote, Potato Marble, Fishcake, Togue, and Pamuchin.

I swear I did not see all those side dishes when we ate there. This might explain why some people comment on social media about incomplete side dishes or some being unavailable at this restaurant.

With our Disney Princess. Haha

It’s spacious right?

I was also confused about the Kimchi. According to their social media post, unli Kimchi is part of the 199 package. However, we were asked to upgrade to P299 for unli Kimchi. That was also my mistake for not researching the restaurant prior to the visit, so I wasn’t able to ask why? Haha

I went along with whatever they served us. I completely trusted them because I was there to enjoy time with my pamangkins. For a P199 or P299 price, I had no high expectations. I just wanted to enjoy our time and the food.

The pork was actually satisfying for its price. Thin-sliced and easy to cook and eat, it’s always my favorite at any Samgyupsal Restaurant.

This is good. I like it.

Overall, I enjoyed the food and my time with the pamangkins. For P199, they offer good food with side dishes. However, I’m a little concerned about whether their pricing is sustainable. You know what I mean. Although I wasn’t expecting much, it doesn’t mean everything was great. There were some hiccups. But I’m the type of person who focuses on the bright side as much as possible.

I think they should reevaluate their menu, especially their side dish offerings. Offering fewer side dishes to ensure they can keep their promise is better than having a wide array they can’t maintain. Simplification is key.

But again, the food was good, especially for its price. I couldn’t ask for anything else.
