Dongalo’s Tapsilog in Dasmariñas, Cavite (Experience & Menu)

After covering the ParuParo Festival Parade in Dasmarinas, I decided to walk towards Dasma Bayan to explore the city center and have dinner.

As I walked, I spotted a familiar Tapsilogan – Dongalo’s Tapsilog. I remember the same branch in Malabon, Gen Trias, which I had visited previously. Unfortunately, that one had closed due to the pandemic.

Fortunately, they still operate a branch in Dasmariñas. I went inside to check the menu. They continue to offer the same delicious food as before, featuring their famous silog meals. I usually opt for Longsilog at Tapsilogans, but craving their signature Tapsilog, I decided to order it this time.

Despite the inflation we are experiencing nowadays, their menu remains affordable. The Tapsilog is priced at only P135, tying as the most expensive item with the Porksilog and Bangsilog. The rest of the menu is incredibly reasonable, with items around 100 pesos.

They also serve Sizzling meals, priced at around 155 pesos. Next time, I plan to try their Sizzling Porkchop and Liempo.

In addition to these savory dishes, they offer desserts like Leche Flan and Mango Graham.

 

Dongalo’s Tapsilog Experience

When my order arrived, one aspect of Dongalo’s that stood out was the generous portion size. You don’t need to order extra rice because one serving is more than enough.

I also ordered a cup of coffee for 20 pesos.

Once I tasted their famous Tapsilog, I was reminded of the exact same flavor I had enjoyed at Dongalo’s years ago. It’s great that they haven’t changed their recipe. The meat is tender and full of flavor.

I savored the Tapsilog, enjoying its taste little by little. Although I would have loved to stay longer, the restaurant was becoming increasingly busy, a clear indication of its continued popularity. I couldn’t blame them – the food is both delicious and affordable.

Most customers arrived in groups, and it was rare to see a solo diner like myself. Since I was occupying a table meant for four, I felt compelled to finish my meal to make room for others.

Leaving Dongalo’s Tapsilog, I felt happy and satisfied. Firstly, it brought back many memories of my long commutes from Manila to Cavite, dining at Dongalo’s before heading back home. Those days were challenging, but I cherish those memories.

I’m also pleased that the Tapsilog still has the same taste and quality. This reassures me that whenever I dine at any Dongalo’s Tapsilog branch, I can expect the same quality.

Now, I’m looking forward to try their Sizzling meals on my next visit.
