Batangas to Sibuyan Island, Romblon (Ferry Travel Guide)

Since I’m from Cavite, I departed early to be in Batangas for our 2:00 PM meet-up at the port. Our ferry was scheduled to depart Batangas at 4:00 PM for Sibuyan, Romblon, but it was better to be there early since there were still some processes to complete.

And I was correct. Since I booked directly on the Starlite Ferries site, I needed to exchange my booking confirmation at the counter to get my ticket, which usually takes time. Luckily, everything went smoothly, and we were in the port’s departure area an hour before the scheduled departure.

I was surprised by the improvement of the new Batangas port. It’s clean, comfortable, and well-lit. It was a chance for me to chat with Jack, a traveler and a former colleague at GMA, who invited me on this group trip. It was also nice meeting new friends in the group.

Then it was time to board the ferry.

Starlite Ferries Boarding & Accommodation

The boarding process was smooth, and I found my accommodation easily. I booked a Tourist Bunk Bed for P2000. The travel time is about 12 hours, so having a good rest is important, which is why I chose this option.

However, when I checked out the Reclining Seat accommodation that some of our group had, I realized it was actually comfortable too and cheaper by P500—it’s only P1500. So, I decided that if I travel to Sibuyan, Romblon again, the reclining seat is worth considering.

If you want a more spacious accommodation, you can opt for the Cabin for P2500.  Based on my experience, I had a good rest in the Starlite Ferries accommodation. CHECK TICKETS FOR BATANGAS TO SIBUYAN

Food and Amenities

When it comes to food, Starlite Ferries offers a free meal for passengers. You just have to go to the cafeteria and show your stub to claim your meal. It’s usually a simple rice meal with one viand, but since it’s free, it’s worth getting.

They also offer some food and quick snacks like sandwiches, chips, and coffee. I got hungry late at night and bought a sandwich and coffee.

Aside from the spacious area of the Starlite Ferries, they also have clean CRs, which is quite impressive.

If you and your friends want to have a few bottles of beer, they have a bar area called Starbites Food and Drinks. This is where we spent our late afternoon, drinking beers while enjoying the sunset.

Arrival in Sibuyan, Romblon

After about 12 to 14 hours of travel, we finally arrived in Sibuyan. It was nice to see the famous Mt. Guiting-Guiting from afar. We just waited for a few minutes for our vans to take us to our first destination, Cresta De Gallo Island.

Overall, I had a nice experience taking Starlite Ferries from Batangas to Sibuyan. If you’re the adventurous type and have the time to spend on a longer travel, this is a good option.
