Ocean Fast operates various crafts called OceanJet, which ply set routes between many of the country’s top attractions in the Luzon and Visayas regions. Most famous as a transit option between Cebu and Bohol, OceanJets also ferry passengers to Ormoc, Tagbilaran, Siquijor, Iloilo, Oriental Mindoro, and Batangas.
When we travel between the many islands of the country, we usually think first of traveling via plane. But there’s also a certain charm and practicality to taking to the seas for inter-island travel. This is especially so when hopping in between neighboring islands such as many of our country’s tourist spots. For this kind of travel, high-speed ocean crafts such as those operated by Ocean Fast Ferries are best.

OceanJet: The Fastcraft Advantage
Fast crafts are an adventure on their own. These are smaller and lighter crafts that offer both a safe and fun way to sail the waves. Because of their lower construction than the traditional, slower ferries, passengers can feel the craft hugging the waves more tightly, therefore making for a more high-octane trip. This does mean that the seasick need not apply, but if you want to turn what is otherwise a boring transit into an experience, fast crafts are your best bet. It’s also a great way to see the ocean and the sights around the islands from a different perspective, closer to the ground and more clearly.
Ocean Fast has been operating these fast crafts as early as the 90s, under its former name Socor Shipping Line. From just one vessel — the Japanese-built M/V Oceanjet 1 — the company steadily grew during the early 2000s. These years marked the birth of OceanJets 2 to 7, which expanded the line to serve more passengers and also birthed the name OceanJet as a recognizable brand. The year 2011 started off an even more aggressive expansion, with the introduction of the Ocean Jet 8 whose parts were built in Australia and assembled in Mandaue’s Golden Dragon Shipyards. This was to be the model for most of the company’s future ships. This leg of growth also introduced the Axe Box design, which helped increase the speed of the boats while reducing fuel consumption. Later, the rest of the fleet was also retrofitted with this design, it is a staple for all future OceanJets. Currently, Ocean Fast has a total of 17 vessels, regularly serving 10 destinations. The fleet contains a mix of both monohulls and catamarans, both providing a high-end transit experience.
These fast crafts are great options for those who want a different take on the island-hopping experience. An OceanJet route plies the waters between Cebu, Tagbilaran, Dumaguete, and Siquijor, for example — all these amazing tourist attractions on their own. To facilitate a seamless tourist experience, OceanJet also provides ticket promos and discounts to certain destinations. These are posted on the company’s homepage for easy reference.
If you’re looking for a quick way to traverse the waters between your destination, or if you’re just looking to add some more spice to your vacation, check out Ocean Fast’s fleet.
