It was mentioned in our previous post that sea travel of tourists within Cebu and Bohol is one of the most active in the country. With numerous, ferry trips per day from various companies between the two provinces is a sign of the booming tourism industry between the two provinces. No doubt because Cebu and Bohol are some of the best destinations for beach getaways, diving, and rich marine life.
Bohol is more than its capital city of Tagbilaran, the entire province is rich with surprises and best attractions to delight every traveler.
In the northern part of Bohol, is a town called Getafe, this is the gateway for passengers and tourists who wanted to travel and explore the northern part of Bohol. Now, tourists don’t need to travel to Tagbilaran and take a van up north, because there is now a ferry service from Cebu going directly to Getafe, Bohol.

Where is Getafe?
Getafe is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bohol, which is also considered as a port town. It is located on the northern coast of the province which is about 92 kilometers from Tagbilaran, the capital city of Bohol. By land, it is roughly about one and a half-hour of travel by van from Tagbilaran.
Travel time from Cebu to Getafe, Bohol is about one hour. Currently, there are two ferry companies that have daily trips between these provinces.
OceanJet: Cebu to Getafe
OceanJet has ten daily trips from Cebu to Getafe and vice versa. Five trips are going from Cebu City to Getafe and another five trips back from Getafe to Cebu. Travel time is about one hour. Please note that Getafe is also known as Jetafe.

Here is the schedule of OceanJet between Cebu and Getafe, Bohol. Please note that the first trip from Cebu is as early as 8:15 AM, then the last trip is 8:00 PM. If you are coming from Getafe, the earliest trip is 9:15 AM, then the last trip is at 9:00 PM.
Cebu to Getafe – 8:15 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM
Getafe to Cebu – 6:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 12:30 PM, 3:15 PM, 6:15 PM

OceanJet Reminders:
- It is required for passengers to present their valid ID’s upon check-in. No ID to present, no check-in.
- Ticket is non-transferable. Presented valid ID’s should match the passenger’s name as encoded on the ticket.
- At least 30 minutes before departure time is required for passengers to check-in.
- To check-in, you have to present a PRINTED hard copy of the ticket emailed to you.
- Each passenger is allowed to bring one ( 1 ) hand-carried baggage upon check-in.
- Bringing of pets is allowed if the pets are securely put inside a cage. Upon check-in, a permit from the Bureau of Quarantine must be presented for passengers with pets.
- Open-Air Tickets for all Passenger types are Non-Refundable
- Discounted fares for Senior Citizens, PWD, Student and Children are not available online. Please buy your tickets at the Ticketing offices to avail of this.
- For bookings paid after 9:30PM, your tickets will be emailed to you the following day.
- For Online Booking Refund, 40% will be deducted to the ticket value either departed or voyage to be departed.
- Inclusive of Terminal Fee for Cebu Port (P25.00) and Tagbilaran Port (P20.00).
