We’ve dined numerous times at Kyukyu Ramen 99 at Farmers Cubao, and this is the first that I’ve decided to blog about it.
My first question is, why do we keep coming back to this tiny Ramen house?
I actually love the soothing relief that I get from eating ramen. The warm thick soup just relaxes my senses after enduring a long commute from Cavite to Quezon City. Then one time, we got lucky to spot Kyukyu Ramen 99 at the food court area of Farmers Plaza, because not only it is delicious, it’s affordable.
Let’s order ramen.
For only 99 pesos, anyone can get a taste of its Kyukyu Ramen, the basic and the cheapest in their offering. We’ve ordered Kyukyu Ramen many times and I find it a good pair with Beef Gyudon for PHP 159. Eloi and I usually order 2 Kyukyu Ramen and then 1 order of Beef Gyudon.
The serving of Kyukyu Ramen is generous for PHP 99, but most of the time I still crave rice that’s why I order one of its rice meals.
I am not in a position to say that the ramen here is an authentic Japanese Ramen since I haven’t been to Japan. Although I’ve read some reviews that it is authentic, but there is always a doubt for me that some bloggers sometimes can easily write the word “authentic” but not really meaning it. You know what I mean. So let me travel to Japan first and update this post.

But one thing I can assure is it tastes good, considering that some cheap ramen that I’ve tried in the past are too salty, this one is different. The noodles are definitely not the type that we get from instant noodles.
After observing Kyukyu Ramen in my many visits, this can be considered as fast-food ramen for its affordable price and quick service. Customers can also get a glimpse of how they prepare their food as the kitchen area is open to the Japanese inspired dining area. They pretty have a quick and easy process like cooking the noodles for a few minutes, then assembling the food with broth and sliced pork.
The broth is not that rich compared to some expensive ramen restaurants that I’ve tried but hello for 99 pesos? It is good enough to satisfy your cravings.
Kyukyu Ramen Menu
Kyukyu Ramen also offers more variety of ramen other than its basic 99 pesos. There are Miso Ramen (Php 169), Tonkotsu Ramen (Php 159), Special Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen (Php 179)I Ichiban and Spicy Ichiban Ramen (Php 199). They’ve recently introduced Cheesy Tonkotsu Ramen for Php 169.

Rice bowls are also available like Chicken Teriyaki (Php 99) and Beef Gyudon (Php 159) with Gyoza as side dish for Php 69.
They also offer desserts like Matcha ice cream with red beans (Php 59) and with black jelly (Php 59).
Overall, Kyukyu Ramen 99 can be considered cheap, but it can satisfy your ramen craving. This small restaurant just proves that you can enjoy a bowl of ramen without breaking your wallet.
