Apple’s official merchant list includes familiar names such as Jollibee, Ayala Malls, WalterMart Supermarket, Abenson, Beyond the Box, Power Mac Center, Rustan’s, Shake Shack, Zara, Gap, HOKA, Lush, Foodpanda, and Shopee.
However, you should not limit yourself only to the businesses listed by Apple.
Apple Pay can generally work at any merchant with an enabled NFC contactless terminal that accepts your card’s Visa or Mastercard network. That means an independent restaurant, coffee shop, hotel, supermarket, or small retailer may also be compatible even when it does not display an Apple Pay sticker.
Look for the contactless symbol, ask whether you can tap your card, and wait for the cashier to prepare the terminal. Then double-click the appropriate button, authenticate, and hold your iPhone or Apple Watch near the reader.
Acceptance will likely become more common as merchants update their terminals and payment processors expand support. For now, keep a backup payment method available and treat every successful tap as another sign that contactless payments are becoming a normal part of shopping in the Philippines.
