During my afternoon walk, I often make it a point to search for nice cafes for a quick caffeine fix. Just a few kilometers from my area in Gen. Trias, Cavite, I noticed this tiny coffee shop named Kanto Kaffee.
What a nice and intriguing name, right? “Kanto” is a Tagalog word which means corner or intersection of streets. This word is usually associated with the lives of the masses and street life.
Despite its limited space, I noticed that many customers are coming in, mostly students, which makes sense because there is a high school near the area. Then, I realized, “Wait, high school students are buying coffee?” You know, when I was in high school, my allowance was so limited that it would have been impossible for me to buy these types of coffee.
So, I walked in and checked their menu. Then, I understood why. Their prices are so affordable that I think even students can afford it. They offer Iced Latte, Milk Tea, Iced Americano, and hot drinks for a cheap price of P35 for a small cup and P45 for a large order. I remember telling myself, “Wow, that is affordable!”
Aside from drinks, they also offer snacks and rice meals at the same price point.

Kanto Kaffe Experience
I didn’t hesitate to go straight to the counter and order a Large Café Macchiato for only P45. How about that? I just sat down and waited for a few minutes, and then my coffee was ready.
The coffee was good. Considering its price point, it’s enough to give you that quick caffeine fix. Of course, it’s incomparable to the taste of expensive coffee brands, but at this price, it’s already good.
Imagine, for only P45, customers can already have an iced coffee. That’s why Kanto Kaffe is popular among students, it offers nice coffee at a very affordable price.
They offer a variety of snacks too, like fries, siomai, dumplings, and rice meals for only 35 to 50 pesos. Imagine that. For less than 100 pesos, you can already have a coffee and a snack too.
I ordered BBQ-flavored fries for only P35. I ate it quickly and then I still had more coffee. Well, I brought the coffee with me when I left and went straight to a burger store nearby.
I enjoyed sipping my iced coffee while eating burgers. What a nice way to have your merienda in the afternoon, right?
Well, I’ve kept coming back to Kanto Kaffee in the past week, and I’ve been ordering their Iced Coffee Original. That has become my favorite too aside from Caramel Macchiato.
