Pampanga has long been known as the “Culinary Capital of the Philippines”, taking great pride in its cuisine and different dishes. Who hasn’t heard of sisig, morcon, or embutido? These culinary delights were brought to Filipino tables by skilled Kapampangan cooks, and are now part of the country’s traditional viands.
Susie’s Cuisine is a local institution known for celebrating the rich food history of Pampanga and spreading the love for its delicacies. Started by Anicia Ayson in 1972, she was encouraged by friends and family who were fond of her delicious home cooking to turn it into a business. She started Susie’s Cuisine as a small canteen in Nepo Mart, Angeles City, serving a small selection of assorted kakanin (sweet rice cakes) and pancit luglug.
Word quickly spread in Angeles City about the tasty food being served there, and it became a firm favorite amongst Pampanguenos. Susie’s Cuisine is now run by Anicia’s daughter, Jesusa Ayson Yabut, and her husband Glenn Yabut.
Under the family’s close care and supervision, Susie’s became the biggest locally grown restaurant store in Pampanga.
Susie’s Cuisine now has over a dozen branches and is considered a must-visit for foodies and tourists visiting Pampanga. If you’re looking for pasalubong to take home from this province, you can’t go wrong with a bilao of Susie’s pancit or kakanin for your loved ones.

Susie’s Cuisine Menu
Wondering what the bestsellers are on their menu? If you’re planning to stop by a Susie’s Cuisine branch, you simply must dig into a serving of their pancit luglug! Imagine a plateful of thin rice noodles coated in savory, slightly tangy atsuete-based sauce with a boiled egg, topped with crunchy chicharon bits – the perfect merienda for a road trip.
Their crunchy okoy is thick and packed with crispy fried shrimps. Wash a couple of these down with a refreshing bottle of their buko pandan juice. Don’t forget to tuck into a slice of their most well-known kakanin, tibok-tibok. Lusciously creamy and slightly gelatinous, this simple dessert is made with carabao milk and topped with a sprinkle of latik (toasted coconut curds). You’ll be lucky if you can snag some of this to take home, as Susie’s Cuisine reputedly sells over 300 trays of tibok-tibok and it frequently sells out in their branches.
Thinking about other Kapampangan delicacies to take home? Mochi may not have been at the top of your mind, but it’s a surprisingly popular item at Susie’s Cuisine. Made with sticky rice filled with bean paste and dipped into thick, creamy gata, it’s an affordable and satisfying treat.
