I was busy capturing moments at Gentri Plaza while the city celebrated its fiesta. Despite having lived in Gen. Trias for years, this was my first time truly exploring the place, especially during this celebration.
The plaza was bustling with people, largely because of an upcoming concert. Street vendors were everywhere, selling everything from food and clothes to souvenirs. Roaming around to capture photos and videos can be a little exhausting. By the time I was done, I was craving a caffeine boost.
I strolled past the church, heading towards the busy intersection of Malabon. To my surprise, I spotted two coffee shops on the second floor of a two-storey building. Faced with a choice between the two, I opted for RCafe. Its aesthetic design caught my eye, setting it apart from the more ordinary-looking alternatives. I could immediately appreciate RCafe’s effort to establish a unique visual identity.
RCafe Experience, Food & Coffee
Inside RCafe, there were a few groups of students. I found a spot at the table suitable for individuals and couples.
The menu offered many choices, making it a bit challenging to decide. Eventually, I settled on an Iced Spanish Latte for PHP 175 and Meaty Spaghetti for PHP 165.
RCafe’s menu boasts an extensive offering, from all-day breakfast items to pasta, sandwiches, milk tea, coffee, and more. They also provide variations like frappe coffee and non-coffee-based beverages. Their milk tea selection includes a cream cheese series, fruity Yakult drinks with pearls, and other options. For big groups, it’s nice to know that they have Barkada Treats and Trays.
The Iced Spanish Latte was refreshing, yet the aromatic essence of coffee was still prominent—a perfect blend for my taste. The meaty spaghetti lived up to its name, brimming with beef. Prepared in the Pinoy style, it catered perfectly to local palates. The generous ingredients and portions set Rcafe apart from other cafes, ensuring value for money.
I stayed at the coffee shop for a few more minutes, savoring my coffee and pasta. I observed that RCafe seems to be a popular spot for families and groups of friends, given the clientele. However, solo visitors like myself are equally welcome. The staff is warm and accommodating, ensuring no one feels out of place. Upon checking, they also offer deliveries via Lalamove. They also accept digital payments like GCash.
Overall, RCafe delivers a delightful experience, making it an ideal venue for family and friends. The next time my friends visit me in Gen. Trias, I know exactly where to take them.
